I hate the way hits are officiated these days.

As long as you don't lead with the helmet it should be good.

 

What is Pitre supposed to do there?

I don't think these type of hits are the primary cause, I think the fundamental existence of a collision sport is. I think addressing big hits is mostly window dressing, and the NFL knows that.
