This is weird because there are a lot of items I used to get at crazy discounts on BB&B whereas a ton of stuff on Amazon is marked up. BB&B's email coupons were nutty good in the past on stuff I've bought. Maybe that's why they're going out of business. lol. There were a few times you could stack them with a sale and come away with a steal. Whenever I shop on Amazon it's a mishmash of "regularly-priced" items, some discounted, and others that are waaay overpriced if you're not careful. Then you have to worry about 3rd party sellers and wonder wth you're getting in some cases because you don't know if it's authentic merchandise.

People were taking advantage of BB&B's return policy in a lot of cases to cheat them a bit, and I'm sure that also caused some damage. I bought a toaster oven that normally sells for around $350-$400, I think, for about $279 a couple of years ago, but people were abusing the return/coupon policy and getting it for something like $220-something. I think that kind of thing was rampant. Costco gets hit with that, too.

    Probably:

Arnal was named as a defendant in a class action lawsuit accusing him, Ryan Cohen and other large shareholders of engaging in a "pump and dump" scheme to artificially inflate the price of the company's stock. The lawsuit was filed last month in United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

The lawsuit claims that Arnal and others made misleading statements and omissions when communicating to investors regarding the company's strategic plans and financial condition, and delayed disclosures about holding and selling their own shares. The suit also alleges the stakeholders shared fake revenue numbers and company plans for spinning off its "Buy Buy Baby" brand to fuel a stock buying frenzy.

SEC(?) can send him to jail for Securities Fraud, but when's the last time they prosecuted anything useful that wasn't a relative slap on the wrist?

    Bernie Madoff?

We sure locked down that subprime mess to deter anyone from doing it again!

I doubt Ryan Cohen will see any jail time. Tax payers will be lucky to have a settlement in capped at single millions.
