First game, first win for Belgium, in and against Georgia, in OT. Not the greatest of individual performances, but team play, crucial 3pts and some defensive actions (6 steals for Obasohan) were enough to win against Bitadze, McFadden and co. It isn't bball on NBA-level, but still entertaining to watch.
Real good game between Lithuania and Germany. But unfortunately the refs forgot a technical free throw for the Lithuanians, so the match might get voided.
Doubt it. Don't remember anything like that ever happening in FIBA. Even when this happened in the last moments of a game in the World Cup:
Probably because there is no way to re-start or re-play the game the protest will be dismissed. Would be a shame anyway, both teams played fantastic and Lithuania still needs to advance to the next round. Best fans of the tourney. By the way, that 2021 Draft looks real good.
After a well deserved loss against Montenegro, a surprising win against Spain. The moment Garuba launched a three and completely missed it, I knew the Lions would win.
According to Turkey’s assistant coach, Hakan Demir, after the players went to the locker rooms, a fight broke out between Furkan Korkmaz and three Georgian players, as well as security personnel Per the Turkish national team, Furkan Korkmaz was ATTACKED in the locker rooms TBF vice-president Omer Onan: "If the security camera footage don't come to us, we will leave this tournament.”
Bosnia and Herzegovinia upsets Slovenia...i listened to post game presser and their coach philosophy has impressed me lot...wouldn't mind if he were to replace Silas
In a game that never was a game, Sengun dominated a weak (and seemingly exhausted) Belgium. I think he finished with 24 pts. However, I was a bit dissapointed in the general quality of the Turkish national team. Without the excellent play of Al-P, it's gonna be hard to be a real championship contender.
