I think we know who the player of the game is.

I love me some offense but watching Hunter + the bullpen keep the opposition to zero runs was a beautiful thing to watch. Haven’t been this pumped to see an Astros pitching debut since …. Verlander?? I think.

Edit: I was pretty excited to see Cole and Greinke too and they came after Verlander

@Yordan The Great - Stupid Baker...Montero now 12/13 in 9th inning closing situations (blew another save when he came in for a hold in an 8th inning).

At this point, they need to explain the rationale/reasoning behind every call. The NFL, for all their dumassery, at least does attempt to explain things the best they can.

Otherwise there’s no point in having replay and even less of a point of them announcing the decision to the fans if they’re not going to clarify why the call was upheld or why it may be overturned.

Would an explanation really help in this situation? Since the call "stood" the explanation would have been that they didn't see any clear evidence to overturn.

What they really need is to have the replay official face the media, go frame by frame and defend the decision.

Show it then. His slide was terrible but from every replay we were shown I never saw the glove touch him before the hand hit the plate.

On another topic, did you see they gave the left fielder a throwing error on the play at the plate when Mancini scored? Granted, it was a crummy throw, but it's very rare to score that an error.

The baserunners advancing was the reasoning behind that error, right or not.

OK...he sure does look out on that angle. They could have shown us that one earlier.

OH **** you..."child"? We were never shown that angle. I just asked you to show it. Thank you for doing that. Quandry resolved.

The plate play was VERY close and at first glance I of course as a fan wanted to call him safe but unless you see something I didn’t I’d say you stay with the call on the field. No problem with that IMO.

We were 2nd worst in the league on runs stolen by umps.
I'll take this every day and all next year. And even then, I doubt the ledger would be back to even (all time}.

Your expletive laden posting about the call, your quoting me for no reason other then to pop off and your challenging "well show it then" (but now of course it's a sheepish, "I was just asking") and once I "showed it", your continued expletive laden posting was all rather childish, yes. Sad for, presumably, a middle aged man. Get a grip.
