He's struggling with a sore hand that has unfortunately sapped all of his power.

When you're out of pocket, you're WAY out of pocket.

Left hand this time. For a left hander, it is the guide hand when batting. The quicker the bat to ball speed, the more it is used for power as well. His right hand (which he uses to throw) is good with exceptionally strong and accurate throws.

22 innings is enough sample size to say that the bullpen as of late isn't getting beat up as you alluded to, you'll need to let go of what happened the 15-20 innings before that.

As someone alluded to the bullpen was excellent before that 7-10 game stretch of horrible performances by the bullpen. So at this point we can safely call it a "blip" and put it to bed.

Sounds about right the way he's hitting this year as opposed to last season.

Recently usually is a longer time frame for old codgers. Two or three weeks falls well within the concept of RECENTLY.

YES! I can't even congratulate them for their performance without stirring up a hornet's nest about how recent, recent is.

I’m still not past the Vazquez goof last night in extra innings. How do you just do nothing there? Wtf? It’s why we lost.

Will we make it to the game without a last minute scratch?

Is Chas hurt again? I know he played Friday

Just strange that such a solid manager would sit him seeing that he has a .999 OPS vs LHP, and start Dubon who has a .542 against LHP

    Chas must not be available

I'd like to know where you got your figures. Even if true, however, Pena's numbers went back up as soon as he returned to the 2 hole. And as of right now, Pena ranks ahead of Gurriel in every offensive statistic except number of hits, which Gurriel has had more plate appearances.

absolutely no reason Gurriel should hit more than Pena. NONE

Early getaway day game. That was ()usty's old guy substitute day. Brantley and Gurriel off days. Then Brantley went on IL. I guess it carried over for a bit.
