And if Francis were talking about his teammates, I'm not that impressed that Cato would challenge a guy who is 6'8 or 6'9. :D

Same here. They do have 3/5 of our roster that we were rooting on for years. But if Mobley walks, i might have to cancel that league pass.:)

I guess that means we cannot talk about Hakeem in the GARM since he didn't finish his career as a Rocket.

U know Jordon was the reason Collins was pushed out . .right?
Ewing nor Olajuwon ever were moved to the #2 spot with the
coaching changes. . . they were ALWAYS the focus
    never asked to defer

OK, points well taken. I guess I'm just not as disappointed as many others with the trade (or rather, the loss of Francis, Mobley, and Cato). I've been following the Rockets since 1979, and I've been spoiled by Moses Malone and Hakeem. Even in the years when Hakeem didn't lead us to the final round, he was just such a dominating player that I held the utmost respect and admiration for him. And with the 2 championships, I did feel a special affinity for those players. I never got that from this group. Yes, they were fun to watch at times, Cuttino was one of my favorite Rockets (met him at SRO when he was a rookie, him and Dickerson were signing autographs, told my wife Dickerson would be a star and Mobley probably wouldn't get far, being a 2nd round pick, my wife who knows nothing about basketball says, "Yes, but I like this other player, I think he's going to do good- shows what I know!), but I guess I've been like a product of our current society- if you don't win it all, it ain't good enough.

I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong. However, any posts regarding Scottie Pippen or Eddie Griffin in the GARM must be dealt with harshly.

    True. Points well taken.

Maybe I'm wrong. But maybe Steve wasn't/isn't good enough to be the #1 option. Look, I hoped and prayed Steve would be the next coming of Thomas or Iverson in the sense that he could be a dominating, MVP-level force in spite of his size. I just never got the sense he would be at that level. Yes, AI takes tons of shots to get his points, but I still feel he's on another level compared to Francis.

Here's an interesting question- Francis for AI, straight up. Would anyone do that trade?

    thanks

The problem i have is. . . i have NEVER hated a rocket player
    [until Pippen]
I don't like folx HATING someone on the team

    T-mac is new . .shiny . . exciting
but in all honestly . . for the most part
we know nothing about him . . .and we can fill in alot of blanks
    while
we know Steve . . d*mn near inside and out

As of now. . I'm in WAIT AND SEE MODE
[helll JVG has not sold me yet. . ]

I appreciate Steve Cat and Cato
and all they did .. . i just don't appreciate
people sh*tting on them for loving the city
    and wanting to stay
and playing their *sses off. . .
esp considering 90% of the people here would not
    do the same. . .

once T-mac's flaws start to showing. . . will they hate on him
How long before we get some TOF

    I mean honestly. . . . .
we gonna ask the 2 time scoring champ to
defer to Yao . . . *this* is going to be fun

Steve is more an enforcer than Cato but their squad should win at least 42 games in the EAST.
