Sorry for the triple post. Want to also say that if Trump is not indicted, and Snowden is not pardoned, the entirety of our government and judicial system is an absolute joke.
I will say it again that far from Trump being treated with bias in the Justice system he has been treated very deferentially. Michael CoHen and Alan Weisselberg both were convicted for crimes that Trump literally signed the checks for. It still is kind boggling that he isn’t even charged for those.
The nonsense about Biden’s speech dividing the nation is exactly that, nonsense. The country is hopelessly divided…People who support or tolerate Trump/MAGA and people who do not. All Biden did was be honest. He spoke the truth. People who don’t like it are on the MAGA folks, so whoop Dee doo. Sometimes, it is important to just speak the truth and political consequences be damned. But here, hopefully he spoke the truth, and it benefits the anti MAGA movement politically. I would like to hear from or get polling on true independents or non MAGA Republicans. How did they receive the speech? As for me, the speech is the decisive move Ive been waiting for. It mobilizes the anti MAGA crowd and people like me say, finally, someone spoke the plain truth and drew the proverbial line in the sand. People like me who say, yeh, inflation isn’t great, I don’t know if the economy is headed up, down or sideways, but I know I care the most about getting this country back to where it was before Trump. This speech is a political calculation that the Dems better get right. Drive turnout in midterms with two clear and simple messages: (1) Maga is an existential threat to democracy and civil rights, and (2) no better example than the overturning of Roe v Wade. Both are true. Both are impossible to ignore …. If you don’t let people ignore them. Thus this move. Your average voter is like your average juror. Your average juror doesn’t process all the evidence or all the arguments. They don’t have the bandwidth, time or sometimes intellect to do so. Good trial lawyers distill their cases to a few key themes that jurors can process and adopt at a gut level…like themes based on fairness, right versus wrong, personal responsibility, etc. MAGA being an existential threat and the overturning of Roe are simple, key messages. In many ways, this is why Trump succeeded versus Hillary, succeeds in his grifting. His messaging is rife with lies and deception, but it has simple themes that his deplorable feel at a gut level. The MAGA movement is near maxed out on passion and turnout. To draw a basketball analogy, they are like Jeff Van Gundy’s Rockets who played all out all the time in the regular season. But they didn’t have another gear of another level for the playoffs. Biden and the Dems have problems playing to their potential. Party in fighting. Young voters are unreliable for turnout. I think this is a good move to get voters energized and turned out.
Great Post, all I can say is its about dam time he came out and spoke the truth, sometimes you cant worry about the "politics", this needed to be said for the past 2 years. It wont change either side but we now have a line drawn in the sand, pick a side and let the voters decide what's next. I do find his funny how the maga crowd is saying this speech was like a dictator...........as Chris Carter used to say, "Come on Man"
I was just reading that, empty folders is not a good sign, where did he put them.............maybe another residence? I assume they can tell what was in the files and if they were actually given back or trump has taken them, moved them etc. Up until now I really would not think he would sell them, he wants to brag about what he has and even show them off or hold the info over someone`s head. What happens if they cant find the dam documents....I dont know enough about the chain of command works with classified docs but dam, this aint good. Just watch, the maga crowd will say that they were just folders, nothing in them, see he didnt take anything

It is 100% in the realm of possibilities that Trump has no idea where all of those documents from empty folders are, that Xi Jinping has them on his night stand for a little late night reading, etc.
MAGA excuse in 3... 2... 1: "Those empty folders aren't technically federal records and Citizen Trump was just using them as props to impress visitors granted an audience in his office." Sad thing is, I can sort of buy into this. As if being an ex-President isn't impressive enough, I can see Trump waving marked folders full of empty pages in front of people to show how important he is (was) or trying to con someone about the contents. The narcissistic ego is unbounded and constantly needs affirmation and praise. Still, those folders at one time held something. Where are those documents? Looking at the inventory, I was struck by how many books were included, given that the guy doesn't read much. Then I realized these are probably books written about Trump. Same with all the newspaper clippings. If I had to guess, a lot of this unclassified pile was stuff he hated that was written by or about people he intended to take revenge on. A revenge pile of memory prods stored and used in the same way as stolen federal and presidential records. Regardless, this is a damaged soul, an anti-American in the truest sense of the word. A criminal. He should have never been close to the White House.
I don’t want to think that a former president would actually sell highly classified information, but when has he not done something for profit or some sort of personal gain?
