My guess is he sits today and tomorrow. That would give him off from end of the game Saturday to Friday evening- while only missing 3 games. That's not bad. We are playing a man down not putting him on the DL- but at some point in time you just have to say who gives a ****? We are 4 up on the Yanks, might not honestly even want to finish ahead of the Yanks, 12 up in the division and 15 up on the 3rd place division winner for the bye. We play 20 crappy teams and 13 teams that don't suck between here and there. By comparison, the Yanks only play 8 games against crappy teams. This is a coast to the finish line- nothing matters more than health. I'd personally prefer to put Yordan on the DL but I must have been on the other line when Click called and asked me. If we aren't going to put him on the DL then I really really really hope he doesn't play tomorrow and they give him the 5 days off that it looks like they will.
When he said no timeframe, it’s Sounds like 2-5 week timetable depending on individual. Hopefully Verlander is a quick healer.
Just rest him until the end of the season. We only need to play slightly above .500 ball to capture the 1 seed. Resting will not heal his hands, but we at least reduce any further risk to them.
Astros are getting some rests before the post season starts. Not a bad thing. Yordan is going to have to gut it out. Houston luck, he will have some form of chronic arthritis in his hands for the rest of his career.
Never in my baseball watching life have I seen a baseball player have non-contact or non-blister injury problems with his two hands. I've never heard a player say "my hands are sore." What the hell.
