Y'all both agree that he shouldn't be dating someone who you think is 20 pounds overweight? Truly, that's pathetic. If that's her main "fault" then you should get down on your knees and thank God that your son has found a woman he loves that makes him happy. And, until you acknowledge that, your son will choose her over you and push you further away
If she's 23 and overweight?? As a parent that should always be concerning. Hell, my biggest issue was being shy.
You can certainly be concerned about her weight as it may relate to future health issues, but to say your son "can do better" because she is (in your opinion) overweight is the red flag in your thought process. Plus, your opinion (and your wife's second husband's opinion) on 20 pounds overweight may be misleading, considering you're comparing his mother to a super model (many of who could use a few pounds)
You've known me on here 20 years. Don't we always want the best for our kids? You're speaking from an outside perspective. Which makes more sense. I'm not saying I'm not biased.
I want my kids and grand kids to be happy. From what I can tell in this situation you want what's best for YOU. You want him to date a skinnier girl.

I agree with @bobrek here. If your son is happy let him be. Also 20lbs isn’t they bad. It’s not morbidly obese.
