Could it be that Rudy and CD are working on a deal to get Chris Mihm? If rumors were corrrect last year, Rudy tried to move up to get Mihm. Now that Cleveland has drafted Diop and acquired Doleac to go along with Mr. Foot Fracture (Zydrunas Ilguaskas), Mihm may be acquirable for Shandon Anderson (S&T) and Collier or -- even better for the Rockets -- for Cato. Any thoughts along these lines?

Mihm is not the answer to the Rockets. However, I have heard this... Cato was asked to play in the summer league and he didn't show up. That is why the Rockets said he was "practicing" with the team instead of playing. I know that this will do something to his trade value.

Is that info from a reliable source?

Would be just one more reason to get rid of Cato as soon as possible.

That would mean Cato is trying to stay with Houston, since the Rockets would not be able to get any value in a trade. I don't think Cato is that smart. Maybe his agent is.

I thought one of the reports from Sattle or BigE said that Cato was there but just not playing.

I head read in another website that CLEV was unhappy with their SG/SF situation. Why? They have so many, with varied skills, so I was confused.

However, maybe John Lucas is looking for a different direction and SA may be the type of player he wants...role player, solid D, and 3pt range.

If we could get Mihm in a sign-in trade, I wouldn't complain. He may not be the answer, but he'd be an upgrade to Cato and Collier and could log sometime at PF also.

Clevland just lost Weatherspoon at the 3 spot, maybe they could use Walt? Maybe Anderson? Maybe Walt and Anderson. I don't think Mihm is worth both of them, but if Anderson wants too much money and the Rockets wouldn't pay the sum he wants anyway, why not? If Rudy likes the kid, it could happen.

If we could acquire Mihm in a trade for Anderson and Collier (I like Collier but they would demand a big man in return), then our lineup would look like this:

    Hakeem, Mihm and Cato
    Griffin, Taylor and Thomas
    Morris, Williams and Bull
    Mobley, Langhi
    Francis, Norris
    (assuming just one IR)

The reason that the Cavs drafted Diop and Doleac is so that Mihm could play power forward, and they know Ilgauskas is unlikely to play 30 games before breaking a foot. He isn't on the block from what I've read...

I agree with The Cat, Mihm game seems more suited for PF than C.

I DISAGREE, Mihm is a CENTER!! We would be very fortunate to get him in a sign and trade with Cleveland. SA at this point is expendable, and I doubt we end up signing him anyway.

Mihm is a center. But Cleveland says they are planning to play him at PF.

Dreamcasters please note. Mihm's salary is $2,067,870 and therefore does not match capwise with SA, Walt or Cato. Mihm is among the Cavs' 12 contracts for '01-'02. Chris is not going anywhere....except maybe PF next to Diop.

I would love to have Chris Mihm on the Rockets! He is going to be a very good player in the NBA for many years to come.

If you don't believe me, let Hakeem tell you all about Chris.

    Weatherspoon=KT

They would have the ideal and younger replacement.

We'd probably have to do some sort of swap of Walt for Wesley Person to grease the wheels. As they've been trying to get rid of him for awhile, perchance some combo like:

    Mihm
    and
    Person

    for

    Walt
    resigned Shandon
    and
    KT

I'm not sure whether I do this, however. We'd also probably have to take someone else, depending on how much of a raise Shandon wants, and we'd be stuck with Person for 3 more years.
