Because the only reference to black people that 99% of Republicans have is what they learned about MLK in school. They received a watered down version of Dr. King and conclude that if they throw out his name recklessly from time to time they must not be racist.

It is all part of the white male Republican starter pack, which also includes a Reagan/Bush 84' sticker, a copy of an Ayn Rand book, a generic bible, a polo shirt and a Nature's Valley granola bar.

MLK is safe..... what you will never hear is any discussion on Malcolm X, Madgar Evers, Langston Hughes, Sojourn Truth or Gwyndolyn Brooks from Republicans.

The name of a black man that died nearly 60 years ago is supposed to some how justify everything that the Republican party had done over the last 60 years and still does.

Hell, look at the Republicans propping up Herschel Walker and Burgess Owens. They think that black voters are stupid.

It depends on the type of law honestly.

I will agree with you that a moderate Republican from a middle of the road law school does very well in front of a lot of juries.

I have come across some very arrogant attorney's from Ivy League schools. They tend to write very well but are arrogant and not terribly likable.

There are always exceptions of course.

    The GOP platform -

If it doesn't serve their own personal gain or fit their racial or moral viewpoint then it serves them no purpose. Defund it, ban it, censure it, or make it illegal. Bailing out the rich is fine but helping the poor is socialism.

The electorate in Kansas “changed dramatically” in the days after a draft of the court’s Dobbs decision leaked in May, the TargetSmart analysis indicates. “Kansans turned out in record numbers in the primary and delivered a victory for abortion rights, a win fueled by Democrats out registering Republicans by 9 points since the Dobbs decision was announced, with a staggering 70% of all new registrants being women,” the firm found. And this trend isn’t limited to Kansas.

If the tilt toward female registrants holds up, it might affect House and Senate seats in key states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, where the gender gap among new registrations is 11 points or greater.

In Wisconsin, where Democratic Senate nominee Mandela Barnes is facing Republican incumbent Ron Johnson, the TargetSmart data show that “women have out-registered men by 15.6%” since Dobbswas decided and that “Democrats make up 52.36% of all of those newly registered voters, compared with 16.59% of new voters registering as Republicans.”

Dumbing down education is official Republican policy. It has been for at least a decade. https://www.austinchronicle.com/daily/news/2012-06-27/gop-opposes-critical-thinking/

Come on. It's the Republican way to blast the good things Biden does for Americans. Like I said before, if it doesn't put more money into the pockets of the rich, then the GOP won't approve.

Just curious how much money do you make a year? Most likely you're going to be paying for people who knowingly took on debt and aren't meeting the responsibility of paying the note.

I come from a family that pays our debts. Luckily this will get struck down before the Supreme Court. Only Congress can make appropriations like this.

If not I can't wait for Trump to get into office and say I'm going to lower income tax to 5%.

Tax cuts for the rich is a okay. But when it comes to giving debt relief to the students and those who want to better their life, it's too much and unfair.

I support debt relief for students over rich folks getting tax cut any day of the week.

    Republicans make me sick.

I'm sad how many liberals don't understand economics. Just follow along with anything they're shown without learning.

No reason to elaborate. I've learned the debate goes nowhere.

I would ask you to at least learn Eco 101.

The Supreme Court getting involved in this and invalidating this Act would be disastrous for Republicans.

Did you complain when the billionaires got the biggest chunks of Covid relief money? Did you complain when the billionaires like Musk, Bezos, and the rest of the big corporate companies coming to Texas will get millions in tax cuts that could go to Texas schools? Do you complain about millionaires wanting to pay less percent in taxes than people who make under $100,000?

I believe in education. In some countries college is free for all. Here, just people in prison get free college unless the kid comes from a poor family. To me, the ones that had to take out loans were the ones getting screwed in the system, with colleges jacking up their costs like crazy. Many of these kids didn't qualify for grants because their parents were middle class. Many of these kids didn't have rich parents to send them to the best schools. My nephew aced his SAT and still didn't get free food, housing, expenses and stuff for college. I am all for giving back to these kids that educated themselves. I have a bigger problem with giving all the breaks to those who don't need it, or who work people like slaves for minimum pay and minimum benefits.

Helping people who try to better themselves, and make a decent living is never a bad thing.

P.S. Trump will be arrested. Trump's promises aren't worth a grain of salt unless they are meant to better him personally.
