Healthcare is not my industry, so I appreciate your perspective. This one observation resonates because I see the same thing in my own industry -- building a hybrid system doesn't give you the best of both worlds, it lands you between two stools. Whether its capitalism or socialism, it's probably more important to pick a single philosophy with everything about the market in harmony with that philosophy.
