Part of the drop in homers is the juiced balls in 2019 vs today's dead balls, but yes, age has got to him, particularly slower bat speed.

You could see this lack of offense coming. Yuli and Maldy sucking horribly. Bregman sucked before his resurgence. Brantley was mediocre before his injury, yordan with an uncertain hand injury. That is why front office should have swung for the fences at the trade deadline. We didn't win it all last year, and that was with Correa. What has the front office been watching all season to think this season's offense could get us over the hump versus last season...

Before this series the Astros had the best record in the AL since the All-Star game which included domination of perhaps the two biggest AL threats to the Astros in the Yankee's and Seattle. The Astros had the perfect team in 2019 with dominant offense and pitching. That's not typical even for contenders. The Astros are back to having great starters and relievers, even with some recent hiccups. An above average offense, which the Astros have, is good enough to win it all with this pitching.
