It really is, he is lapping Obama under harder circumstances, I don't think Republicans are as well organized, but they are certainly more radical. Maybe all that radicalism is hurting them because everyone wants the spotlight for themselves.
Biden needs to do a better job of tooting his horn he has been incredibly effective in a tough situation. DD
Everyone knows Biden is not actually in charge …anytime someone has notes to tell them “YOU take your seat , YOU thank the presenter”.. that’s evident ,…last week it was about would someone else please run even from the Democrats.. honestly I’m done with 75 plus yo politicians- get someone like Desantis or Kamala in there and we can resume the poo slinging but at least we get someone with actual cognitive abilities to lead the country.

By The Editorial Board Aug. 16, 2022 6:36 pm ET Hear, hear to the Biden Food and Drug Administration, which on Tuesday finalized a rule that Commissioner Robert Califf said will open up the hearing-aid market to competition and “unleash the power of American industry.” This is the right way to reduce prices. The FDA rule will let Americans buy hearing aids over the counter rather than by prescription. This will expand the hearing-aid market and could save seniors thousands of dollars. The four largest manufacturers control 84% of a relatively small market. In 2019 the average retail price of a hearing aid was $2,284, about three times more than the wholesale cost. Blame these huge markups on the cartel of licensed specialists who typically contract with two or three hearing-aid manufacturers and bundle the cost of the device with other fees and services. Many Americans can’t afford to pay thousands of dollars for devices, which aren’t covered by Medicare or most private insurance. The result is that some 40 million Americans with hearing loss don’t use hearings aids. Some use less expensive personal sound amplification products, but these aren’t as effective or personally adjustable. Untreated hearing loss can reduce seniors’ quality of life and is estimated by the Lancet Commission on Dementia to be responsible for about 8% of dementia cases. This is the Biden Administration’s best move on regulation to date, though opening up the hearing-aid market has been a bipartisan effort. In 2017 President Trump signed legislation co-sponsored by Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley that directed the FDA to establish standards by August 2020 to allow hearing aids to be sold over the counter. As is it often does, the FDA dawdled amid opposition from the hearing-aid oligopoly. But an executive order by President Biden lit a fire under the agency. Mr. Biden said Tuesday that the FDA rule is the “latest action we are taking to make our economy more competitive and less concentrated.” We’re glad to hear it, but he’s overlooking a crucial point. The main cause of limited competition in the hearing-aid market was government regulation. Yet his Administration is currently working on regulations across the rest of the economy that will squeeze small businesses while benefiting bigger companies that can absorb the additional costs. This will reduce competition and encourage consolidation the way ObamaCare has in healthcare. More regulation and subsidies usually result in higher prices, which is why the Inflation Reduction Act that he signed Tuesday is more likely to raise prices. If only the Administration listened to the lesson of hearing aids. Appeared in the August 17, 2022, print edition as 'A Biden Hearing-Aid Breakthrough'.
Aviator Joe is back — just in time to take his quasi-victory lap. Forget the glowing eyes of Dark Brandon. As President Joseph R. Biden Jr. arrives back in Washington, D.C., to enter the White House to sign the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, it is his Ray-Ban 3025s — the dark, wire-rimmed, teardrop-shaped sunglasses he has made his signature — that once again seem the emblem of the man. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/16/style/joe-biden-aviators.html
I really don't know wtf is going on at the NYT with the pigeon bait. Seems like an internal culture war between Gawker Fashion and cranky old Ivy League snobs.
gas prices down…chicken wing prices down…passing meaningful legislation Joe Beezy in his bag right now?
He said billion instead of million on accident. The guy is clearly unfit to be president and is the BIGGEST security threat the Oval Office has ever seen. Also Hunter should be arrested for treason.
This is a winning message. Biden has done what almost all Presidential candidates promise to do (except Trump 2020 who promised nothing except retribution against the Ds and RHINOs). Biden has taken his long list of campaign promise and successfully signed them into law. This is no small accomplishment. Historic, even.
It's quite impressive that trump as incompetent as he was able to accomplish many conservatives goals and on the other side of the spectrum Biden moderate as he is somehow able to also accomplish a lot of things also under even harder conditions. I would still vote for a more leftist candidate though. Biden doesn't have the balls to do more for student debt and that's really my main concern at the moment. Still it's good that we are actually witnessing stuff being pass that can actually benefit the majority instead of tax cuts for the rich. I hope democrats continue to stay in power.
Is more aggressive student debt relief economically prudent right now? I genuinely don't know the answer and I support the action taken yesterday. I'm just wondering how more would affect inflation.
Inflation gonna come sooner or later. Using that as an excuse to not address things that needs to b address is not gonna change anything. Eventually this country will fall back to the Republicans control and by then any hopes of addressing student debt relief is down the toilet I realize that the Republicans always like to btch about the nation's debt to deter actual sht from happening. But when they r in control they fking ignore it to pass tax cuts for the rich and more military budget so they can get a piece. Dems should do the same when it comes to student debt relief at least it would benefit many of the newer gen. Fiscal responsibility is just a load of bs Republicans btch about to handcuff the dems from actually helping the people.
Pffft. Apparently u never played the recently newish south park games where the skin color of your character increases the difficulty. Obama skin color alone in itself is a hard circumstance for him to overcome in this racist country. I was surprised the racist folks on the right allow Obama to do anything after outright declaring their goal of making him a 1 term president That being said kudos for Biden for getting things done with a 50 senator majority.
I’m pretty sure it would increase inflation. How much I have no idea. More than that though I don’t think it could be politically done. I think many Democrats don’t support forgiveness of all student loans.
