Was good early but Cueto basically did what he normally does vs the Astros

Urquidy was awesome and gave a legit chance but the bully blew up

And the offense did nothing non-Cueto too

    F*** this game

    Win the series

Im going to be so pissed if Dusty tweaked Urquidy's confidence with his terrible mgmt tonight.

My respect for Urquidy just rose to a new level. Said the right thing when he didn't have to.

Abreu looked pretty good for an off season pick up possibility.

I didn't mind either but Montero has been a sack of DOGSHIT lately. Makes no sense to put that bum in.

If you plan on using them in the playoffs, he needs to get out of his funk. That is why Dusty put him in. This game is not going to matter in the grand scheme of things. Dusty should have Jose in, however, I understand why he didn’t.

    Three failures Dusty…

    (1) Took out Urquidy too fast.
    (2) Left Montero in too long.
    (3) Left Chaz on the bench for Dubon.

    WAKE UP DUSTY!

Turn it around to a positive.

Dusty said his gut said to stay with Urquidy. So, lesson learned in a relatively meaningless August game with a 12 game lead. Perhaps in the postseason he remembers this and lets his starter get that last out and doesn't "Hinch it up" in the playoffs.

While I'm nervous about Montero, he's been a high leverage reliever all year for us. Given it was the last out in the 8th, if you did it over again I'd go with Pressley to try and get a 4 out save.

2nd straight terrible outing for Montero. He's now only got one out against the last 9 hitters he has faced.

Montero needs to rest a few days. He may have fatigue

The irony is that for most of his career Baker was criticized for leaving starters in too long.

I don't think he should have pulled Urquidy...but had Montero done his job, we wouldn't be discussing this at all today. If the bats didn't go cold after the first inning, we wouldn't be discussing this at all today.

I have no problem pulling Urquidy. I'd have used someone besides Montero because Montero pitched the night before and didn't look sharp. Though this would have been to rest Montero and Stanek being rested more than fear of Montero giving up 4 runs without getting an out. Sometimes things just go wrong.

Baker, while he's reduced how much he rides the starter over time, still rides the starters more than other teams currently as other teams have reduced starter usage as well if not more.

    I'd say 4 failures.
Being lazy and just putting dubon in the leadoff spot once Pena was scratched.

I don't understand the fascination with Dubon. I am not a baseball expert, just a fan, but Dubon looks like a guy out of the stands. He performs like one too. Admittedly, he has had some key hits, but his avg. is around .200. Not exactly someone I would start.
