Everytime I see predator news I feel the need to share that the original predator design was much different and actually had Jean Claude Van Damne in the suit, before he rage quit. https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/blog/the-original-predator-suit-jean-claude-van-damme
I thought it was pretty good! The "if it bleeds" callback was acceptable. The "do it!" callback was pushing it. I rolled my eyes when Naru screamed "Get to do choppa!"
This Predator movie was amazing and by far the best one in years, it actually might be better than the first one. Although I have the original as the best in the franchise. Great scenes, Spoiler "If it bleeds we can kill it" -When she's putting on war paint and talking to her prey -The final kill scene I would have paid to watch this in a theater honestly.
I hear some of the complaints but the reality is Beating a Predator is usually a mix of Skill, Luck and Attrition Rocket River
I really like the predator lore and appreciate the mystery of the species. You could theoretically have them abduct any local world badass and set up a conflict, ala Predators, and it makes sense. I know there was a batman vs predator Of course easy integration with the alien franchise. They showed up in the MK Universe. And I liked this fan fiction: I am behind on Prey and The Predator, but gonna catch up soon.
Count me as a fan of this one too. Such a slow - surprisingly slow at first - but rewarding build. I didn't find it so woke at all but more just another coming of age story where a character loses early the movie, faces setbacks, but keeps believing in themselves. That's like in so many good movies from Hoosiers to the Dark Night Rises, etc. Really loved the brother character too. Actor nailed that and he fought well with his sister. Spoiler Kinda loved how the French guys were ranked even below the Predator as bad guys, hahaha. They got so wrecked. The only thing missing was one of them getting ball-chomped by the dog or pooped on by hawks. Only over-the-top scene for me was her wrecking several French guys in quick order, but I still enjoyed it.
I agree. I actually liked it. For some people having a female lead character is being Woke. I really feel we are going backwards in the acceptance of equality of people.
I’ve already seen Apocalypto. A far superior movie. Predator 1 and 2 is all you really need to see. I don’t do Hulu.
So what was the Prey Predator? There's lady Predators and they have boobs? So Predators are mammals? Those ****ing creepy baby Predators breastfeed?
I had not even watched the entire thing, just thought it was fascinating that they had an entire mythos around them and it could explain a bit of Prey.
Pretty rich backstory in the Dark Horse comics. You can probably find a synopsis of all of the comics online.
