Does Brinson have a MLB future? I wouldn’t mind seeing him in September, especially if we have no intention of calling up Leon yet.
No, he's had his shot and he's been terrible, maybe as a 4/5th OF on a bad team? Former top20 MLB prospect, btw.
Ryan Clifford went 2-4 with an RBI single and a two-run homer, his first as a pro, in the FCL Orange team's 14-5 win over the Nationals.
I won’t pretend to know how legit what he is doing at AAA is or isn’t, and agree the chances are slim But he wouldn’t be the first guy to fail fail fail and finally figure it out
Valente Bellozo vs. Down East: 5 IP, 2 H, BB, 7 K Miguel Ullola followed him out of the bullpen, and unfortunately, he took the loss: 4 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
Miguel Palma crossed the 50 pa threshold with High A tonight and he still has an ops >1000. Joe Perez has a >900 ops in August so far.
I wish Fangraphs let you do intra-season splits for MiLB teams like they do for MLB teams. It’s a pain having to search the game logs of the players who you feel are hot for corroborating evidence.
Bauer deserves every single game he has missed. He has some screws loose and is lucky he isn’t in prison. Bauer has had success but his own hubris brought him down. He is a bad guy
Don’t worry…. I’m sure after the game he will review the film alone and conclude he needs a new release point or his trunk opened too early and with some changes in his delivery he will be better than ever in 2023.
Kid has got great potential. He was quoted not too long ago, "what more do I have to do" when speaking about getting called up. It's always been the walks and still is. Three more in six innings.
Framber walks a lot of guys and he’s just fine. Nolan Ryan did too. He’s got far and away the best numbers in AAA. I’m ready to see it. Send down Martinez and Maton. Pair LMJ and Brown for a couple starts for LMJ in case he’s not ready for any length. When LMJ is good send Brown out there 2 innings at a time to prepare to be a playoff bridge guy.
"It's always been the walks and still is" was probably also uttered about Lance when he was in the minors and he turned out alright... when healthy, of course. Luis Garcia cut a 4.2 BB/9 in the minors to 2.8 in the majors, so obviously it'll take some work, but it's not a totally impossible task, and I haven't heard about any red flags concerning Hunter Brown's makeup, so it's definitely doable.
First let me say that the walks are not my concern but Mgmts. I definitely think the kid deserves a shot and should be called up and more then likely will on Sept 1st. That said you want to compare him to the greatest strikeout pitcher of all-time and the greatest pitcher who induces ground balls? Hunter has had 20 starts this yr. Here's a few of them: 3.2 IP 5 BB 5.0 IP 3 4.1 IP 2 1.0 IP 2 5.0 IP 3 3.2 IP 4 3.0 IP 3 4.0 IP 4 3.2 IP 2 That's nine of his twenty starts. He also got shelled in the All-star game.
