ah... I thought the cba restriction means if you are over the cap, the mle and vet's min is the only resource you are ALLOWED to sign players?

Even if the Lakers dont break up, their still going to be w/o Karl Malone. Payton, Kobe, and Shaq wont be enough to get them past the second right.

Malone's not out of it yet. If he can get healthy before the season, he may very well come back.

But Shaq wants to eat Buss alive, how hard will he fight if he cannot be traded?

so far the only teams that have improved: rockets, suns

teams that stayed the same: minny and memphis

teams the have gotten worse : everyone else (including sanantonio if they lose either bowen or manu)

Any team that replaces Marbury with a legit PG is going to improve, I'm convinced of that. Suns will play an uptempo game similar to that of the Mavs.

Only problem with the Marbury-less Suns is that they no longer have a player that can truly take over a game. But they'll be in playoff contention.

    PG - Nash
    SG - Joe Johnson
    SF - Marion
    PF - Stoudemire
    C - Cabarkapa? Lampe? Voskuhl?

Johnson and Stoudemire are much improved, Marion's a stud, and Nash should be able to put it all together. I think Lampe and Cabarkapa will be decent options in the high post, though Voskuhl would bring more defensive energy.

Suns will be pretty good. They still have some cap room to deepen that bench, I believe.

haha can someone honestly say that Lampe is going to be something? I've actually palyed on the same soccer team as he,he was our goal..and believe me our team wasn't any good at all and he was a crybaby! I don't kiddin he cired every time the other team scored on him. I've never seen him played basketball tough so can someone give me answer if he has the potential to be something in the nba?

It's the SECOND of July. A bit early to counting wins due to TODAY's roster.

That said, it has not started off as a good summer for the Cubes!

Lampe had one strong performance late last season (17,7) and I hear he got into a scuffle with Amare during a practice. He could be a decent player... Certainly no worse than Jake Voskuhl.

ok thanks! I can only refer my impressions of him when we were boys but at that time he wasn't nice, very anti social who disrespect our team just because we were a losing team. I've also heard from some former teamates here in Sweden tahat they don't really like him but that can be jealousy

Shaq-Kobe is what every team wants, now we have future Shaq-Kobe which is envied by other 29 teams(L.A includes because Shaq will fly away:D )so now we don't need to worry others, just dreaming and waiting;)

It is a little early to be talking rankings. It is only july 2nd. Free agency hasn't even really started yet.

As for the Mavericks, they are exploring a trade that would send Walker and a little more to GS for Dampier. If they pull that off they are looking at

    Harris/Delk
    Daniels/Howard
    Finley/Stackhouse
    Dirk/Fortson
    Dampier/Bradley

I doubt that lineup is championship caliber but I don't see them falling out of the top five with that lineup
