He wears 23 at the national team but the highlights do not live up to that.

did he bulk up a little bit? He looked heavier and slower to me. That might just be the euro game though.

I am sure 23 in Turkey is more prestigious than 28 as The Turkish Parliament opened in 23 April and Turkish Republic was created in October 1923.

Sengun>Wood inside the paint was the closest thing to a guarantee last season.

Either Tari or Bari has to replace that completion efficiency near the rim.

Sengun made so many of those passes look easy. They weren't easy! I think those two will complete a lot of the misses.

It really stands out watching Sengun, not just in these clips but his rookie season.

Just how bad the defensive IQ is of a lot of defenders.

How many times would you see a Sengun baseline spin in the film session, and still defenders are more often than not caught out of position and don't know how to feel Sengun when he's backing down.

Definitely looks heavier, probably 250-255. Luckily it does not seem to be fat. Legs look very strong. His moves seemed even better and stronger than last year. In second half he is wearing kneetape - hopefully it is not jumper's knee which could be serious.

The talent that the kid has is absolutely ridiculous.

Man, Jabari Smith and Alperen Sengun could absolutely wreck the NBA in a few years.

Sengun plays like what everyone thought and hoped Motiejunas would play like.

He plyed 24 minutes, 15 points, 3 rebs.

Normally he is a starter but that spot was given to his pal Sadik Emir Kabaca (6'11", 21 years) but Kabaca played only 13 minutes, likely Sanli-Kabaca duo did not go as coach Ataman predicted.

Alpi will play in these "trials" and later on in World Cup Qualification games and Euro22. There are 3 expectations for Alpi:

1.To play alongside with a real big (Sertac Sanli of Barcelona mainly). Sertac is a 7 footer (nearly, may be 1 cm short) with a 3pt threat and defensive abilities.

2.To work together with Memo "the moneyman" Okur, former NBA champion, famous for 3s as a big man.

3.Most importantly to work with Ergin "the duke of basketball Ataman (Ataman/Atabek is a Turkish equivalent of Duke). He is the symbol of winning. Back to back Euroleague championships, winning all possible Eurocups.

Ergin got a time-out when the difference melted to 18points, grilled the players and the team outscored the Ukrainans 15-7 then to finish the match. Ataman never accept to surrender. Alpi will re-gain winning culture.

Today will be more interesting, Sovenians and Luka Doncic.Good luck to Alpi.

These highlights display how good Sengun can be with proper spacing....also it highlights how terrible Rockets spacing was last year.

OT...why is KJM still on this team?

that play seems to be as selfish as it comes...so uncharacteristic of alpi.... and so much in the fashion of cwood, josh christoper, KPJ and their enabler silas...

I was trying to think of what player Alpi reminds me of the most.

I think he reminds me most of a healthy Demarcus Cousins...very similar play style.
