I took a gamble and turned off my sprinkler system over the weekend hoping we would get some rain this week, so I hadn't watered since last Friday. Glad it paid off. I got about 1 1/2 inches. Yard is nice and saturated. Unfortunately, I hedged my bet and filled up my pool on Tuesday. Can't win 'em all I guess.
https://www.axios.com/2022/08/15/extreme-heat-belt-global-warming A new study reveals the emergence of an "extreme heat belt" from Texas to Illinois, where the heat index could reach 125°F at least one day a year by 2053.
So, rain is in forecast in D/FW for about two weeks straight starting Sunday. This should be interesting. I wonder what is causing this shift? I guess good things happen when the pressure dome shifts out of the area. Normally, we'd still be complaining about 100 degree days so this is going to be a nice stretch. I guess we won't be breaking any 100 degree day count records after all.
Are we allowed to include freaky weather from elsewhere? Check out this footage from Corsica, especially the ferris wheel looking all CGI -- craycray.
I think I've gotten a few drops since last night. Everywhere north and south of me seems to have gotten dumped on by a deluge. I better get some rain tonight. They promised me days of rain, so I want days of rain!! I think I've gotten one day of "real" rain since June. Ridculous.
It's totally pouring over here in NRH. There's like a torrent of water running down the street on both sides.
