ESPN was talking about Vegas lines for the 2022-23 NBA season. The line on the Rockets is at 24.5.

Christian Wood is gone. Eric Gordon is a wild card. Jalen Green's second season. Jabari's rookie season.

Are you predicting over or under 24.5 wins for the Rockets?

It's a tough call because I want them to do well but I just foresee Ls all over the place. I'm going under.

The improvement from Green, Sengun and KPJ will determine the answer. If Jabari/Tari can contribute that would be a bonus, but may be a tall task for rookies. New assistant coaches and a focus on defense could help. Wood I think is worth 3-5 wins, so to cover 24.5, all the above (internal growth) would need to generate 8-10 extra wins vs last year.

It's pretty difficult to win as few games as this team has for the past few years, but they've done it. However I think even a small defensive improvement is worth 5 wins because of how historically awful it was. I'll say over by just a couple.

Tough call. The west will be a little tougher this year. If Gordon is gone and not replaced with a good young SF or other player, I think we go right under that number. Im rooting for our young guys, but they still have a lot of growing to do and then we added 3 more yungins this year that we will need something from. I like the coaching changes, but it will take 2 years to get this group going in the right direction.

Over. I feel Jabari alone will win us a couple close games with some critial three pointers.

I think it'll be right around the 24 mark, but might miss it.

they need to show some improvement this year

if the Rockets are the worst team in the league yet again…if they 3 peat as L champions…then something is seriously wrong here

so I’ll take the over because that’s what I want to see

I'll say over but the Rockets could still end up with a bottom 5 record in the 25-27 win range.

There has to be some teams at the bottom of the standings.

I feel like our realistic range is somewhere between 20-29 wins.

    26-56 is my guess.

So I will go with over in this poll, but I wouldn’t be putting actual money on it. Really could go either way.

I guess over - I see us hitting about 25/26 wins. The over/under is set pretty fairly. We are even a younger team than last year and I doubt the few vets remaining will be with the team all year. EGo and Boban probably won't finish the season with this team. I do think we squeeze out a few extra wins this year because the guys who will have the ball in their hands the most this season will all be a little better/more experienced...but I mean even 26 wins is a best case scenario. Honestly 24.5 seems about right.
