Mancini’s beaten Colon Cancer, but Dusty Baker may be his toughest challenge yet.

Dusty sees Mancini, Vazquez and Diaz as insurance/bench players and that's how he's approaching their playing time. As the regular season comes to a close, if the lineup continues to be inconsistent or not hit up to their potential, management will have to step in and suggest the lineups for the playoffs imo

And people wonder why he’s never won a WS. Teams win in spite of him

Diaz is a utility guy so I get it and Maldy is so good with the pitchers and defensively that I get Vasquez off the bench but Mancini was absolutely brought in to start. No doubt in my mind

Under no circumstance should Mancini not be playing every day somewhere between 1B/DH/LF. What the hell did we trade for him for?

I’ve been a big Dusty defender but even I am starting to get sick of him. He’s a great person, no doubt, and he’s done a lot for the sport, but this? WTH.

At full strength, Mancini plays 1B, Diaz LF, McCormick CF, and Gurriel and Dubon are on the bench. This is just stubbornness.

No clue. I personally would want someone who has some experience, but is also modern and into analytics.

    On this offensive Juggernaut

How can you guys expect a guy like Mancini to start over guys like Yuli with his .667 OPS? and before anyone mentions how much better he is batting 2nd, his OPS in the 2 hole is .648, so there is that

How can you expect Mancini to start over Chas vs a RHP? Chas is blasting RHP to the tune of a .626 OPS, you simply can't sit that guy vs RHP (although you can sit him vs LHP with his 1.000+)

How can you expect Mancini to start over Dubon (with Chas in CF) vs a RHP? Dubon has a .556 OPS vs RHP, you simply can't put a guy ripping RHP to that level on the bench

Mancini needs to face the facts, this Astros offense was unstoppable when he was brought here and having him as a pinch hitter in lower level situations is as much of a role as he is capable of on this squad

Definitely disagree. By the time the postseason starts Mancini will have a way bigger role than that. he's too good of a player to have that minuscule role

Is he known for benching better players in the postseason for those other teams?

You are not going to get the most out of Mancini in October, if he plays twice a week throughout August and September

Mancini should be playing 1b. This is basically sabotage by Dusty.

You're talking about seeding, I'm talking about teams. The AL Central Division winner is going to be easy fodder in the Playoffs, that's who I want us to face.

the postseason is based off seeding which results in the matchups. Wanting to face the AL central isn't an actual choice
