The nba back in the late 80s early 90s was different!

Just make the hand check legal and zone defense illegal again. It’s the only things that kept the mad bomber from going all broken bottle.

Highlights from a fun game. I forgot how explosive Maxwell could be (basketball-wise):

God Olajuwon and Jordan were amazing. I absolutely hate Michael Jordan, but Maxwell was never afraid of him. You need a guy like that. He played Jordan with a chip on his shoulder every single time.

That move by Hakeem on Cartwright at the 2:15 mark...lol

Also watching Hakeem step out and guarding Jordan...Hakeem was incredible.

yeh... a lil crazy is ok - as long as they have a firm allegiance (ie GGreen)... but crazy like KPJ or Max where it may come down to them blowing and telling the team to fo and walking out... thats the crazy i can do without....

I recall Maxwell throwing a weight at Hakeem.

Don't know about him throwing a weight at Olajuwon, but he did have a fight with Gary Payton in their lockerroom when he was a Sonic. If I recall, Payton picked up a chair and Maxwell picked up a dumbbell or some kind of free-weight. Horace Grant was supposedly hit and injured by a free weight while trying to separate them or something.

Yeah... KPJ ain't got nothin' on Mad Max. :D

Someone needs to edit that story into a song his voice is classic -- Max is like a country version of Charlie Murphy telling stories.

I had no idea when Hakeem was playing and I was a little kid that I'd be watching his highlights 30+ years later.
