He is only garbage if you think the only way a manager effects the team is an analytical criticism of the lineup each day. Even though I'm not a Dusty fan I find the forums critique hilariously narrow.

Getting guys to play hard, to have a clubhouse that is famously fun and supportive, to be able to ignore the boos and the media bias and the overwhelming desire to see them fail...these things matter so much more than the lineup card. Evidence of which is that we have been one of the best teams in baseball since he was hired. It's not nothing that's for sure.

Generally I think the people that complain daily about him either don't really understand baseball or are just the internet types that will complain about everything.

That said I will be happy when he retires and someone with a more modern take that aligns with the front office is in charge.

 

For three seasons running they've amassed massive wins in despite him? You can't fake it that long dude, especially with the amount of talent that departs the team every offseason.
