FTR my thoughts have always been that Vazquez was replacing Castro so won't play much.

But I hope he plays more vs RHP

Maldonado is 6th on the team in OOS vs LHP and has been very good for well over a month now.

There is no reason to complain about Maldy starting vs LHP but not RHP.

hopefully once he is better acclimated to the pitchers Vazquez will catch more.

But I'm not holding my breath.

I entered possible starts the rest of this month and came up with 18 for Maldy and 7 for Vazquez.

 

So are we expecting the game to go on tonight since there's a good chance of rain?

 

I think they play. Rain may be diminishing.

 

Maldonado again? Dusty is fing hopeless... And here we were thinking that losing Hinch and Luhnow was the punishment... The real punishment was putting Dusty on this team... This man never dissapoints in dissapoiting us Astros fans..... What a joke, thanks MLB....

Don't you complain when Baker "benches" the hitter who had a good game? Maldonado had a double, HR and 3 RBI. Based on Baker "always benching" the hot hitter shouldn't you be happy Maldonado is starting?

I sort of understand why Click did not make a big move for Bell or Contreras.... Dusty would have played Meyers and Maldonado over them...

 

Dusty said several days ago that Christians next start would be when Garica pitched. They were never ever, never, never, ever, ever, never looking to replace Maldy for a new regular starter. They just now have the luxury of giving Maldy 2, sometimes 3 days off a week instead of 1.

 

Vazquez was always a replacement for Castro not Maldy
