Sure, i mean everyone in the NBA knows that Mobley and Sengun are basically regarded as the same level of prospect for this very reason. I wonder if Mobley and a protected 1st is enough to get the Rockets to part with Sengun?
"Sengun is a bad defender in general, but he's terrible on the perimeter/switching" was pretty much the accepted narrative here right? So much so that I just kind of went along with it. Whoops!

He has great footwork but loses the ball easily and his passes are often slick attempts that result in turnovers. You'd be *amazed* at the switch numbers.
— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) August 4, 2022
I would say about 5% of his passes (at most) are slick attempts that result in turnovers. This is sooo wrong.
Exactly - so if you know it's ludicrous to think the 2 have the same valuation - why bother pointing out something you know is misleading like Sengun beating him in every /36 trad stat category? Everyone knows - without having to look - Mobley had a much better rookie season than Sengun and is a much better player both now and projecting forward - given what we know today. Rookie trad stats among qualifiers - like blocks or whatever - don't seem to be a good predictor of later success or else we'd have John Collins and Marvin Bagley getting supermax deals instead of Ayton this summer
When you do a deeper dive into the stats, Mobley didn’t have a much better rookie season than Alp. I wouldn’t even say he’s a “much” better prospect than Alp. Time will tell

Sengun is going to have a good tournament. His game translates well to international play. He’s going to feast in the post. Excited to see if his 3pt shooting form has improved. Also whether he’s added some muscle. Sooner rather than later he’s going to establish himself as the best player in Turkish basketball history which is a nice accolade for him and a little income/marketing boost for the Rockets. Maybe this will be his breakout tournament.
Omer Faruk Yurtseven (Miami Heat center) will not play, so Sengun will have a bigger role. Source: https://basketnews.com/news-176067-...s-statement-regarding-leaving-turkish-nt.html
