Pretty sure everyone is rooting for every player on the team…..it wouldn’t make any sense not to. Just because I’m rooting for someone doesn’t mean i think the team should give them a big contract, i want what’s best for the team long term in hopes of becoming a title contender.
I don't think anyone has said....give him a HUGE contract, this is all waiting for the season nonsense....and people overeacting to a player that has had maturity issues when they themselves probably have similar things in their youth..... We are all here just to watch the team and whatever the team decides, we are fine. Just - GO ROCKETS !!! DD
I'm pretty sure that's not true. Perhaps you just think that KPJ should only receive insulting lowball offers, but there are absolutely knuckle draggers here actively rooting against him. It only makes sense when you consider that they are the least intelligent posters here.... and that's saying something. I think some of it is just attention seeking, but I'm not sure that makes it better.
Not sure what the "abysmal nonsense" is but Twitter is pretty much a cesspool of abysmal nonsense so if someone on that platform says something that bothers you, you have only yourself to blame for being on there in the first place. As far as who the posters are, I wouldn't deem them as "abysmal nonsense" types, more like exaggerated KPJ apologists. He should've been cut a long time ago for quitting on the team in multiple instances. The whole "hes a young kid we have to learn to forgive" is drivel. I had about the same hope for Danuel House, Royce White, D-Mo, V-Span or any one of the many losers that have found their way onto this team. Maybe he's going to be the one to "figure it out". Wouldn't hold my breath is all I'm saying. I just dont want the Rockets hamstrung with another talentless malcontent like Ryno ended up being. Things look great with Green/Sengun/Jabari/Tari. Don't keep someone around that could set the whole thing on fire. We've already removed two.
The whole insulting low offers thing is weird to me. He has proven nothing so far, and has been as a player outright bad. Does he have potential? Of course. If he was an RFA this season? Would anyone even bother? I doubt it. Maybe he matures and maybe he figures it out, I certainly hope so, but to say he has earned a contract over 8/season is simply untrue. People point to other contracts that are horrible as a defense to pay kpj, where’s the logic in that?
Yeah. The Knicks pay Brunson 25M a year. Therefore we should start at 20M with KPJ. The Knicks! We should model after this franchise how to build a winning team!
And the MAIN thing is that brunson was UFA. Had he been an RFA, the knicks would not have done all the salary dumping and all those trades to open up cap space.
Well if KPJ has a big year, that is the kind of contract someone will give him......and the Rockets would have to match to keep him......which is the crux of the argument I guess. Try to sign him cheaply now - or let the market set the price and live with that result. Doesn't honestly matter to me......either is fine. DD
Again, this is simple NOT TRUE. KPJ will NOT be an UFA like brunson was. He would have to be considerably better then brunson was this past season to get the same contract an an RFA that brunson got.
Exactly. IF KPJ has a big year. Let's see IF he has a big year, and then go from there. If we gave him 20M now and he had a big year, how much more do you think he would get? It's like betting $100 to gain $10 for something unknown. You know the difference between you and some of us is that you are so certain that the big IF is already a reality whereas we have good reasons to doubt that the likelihood is so great. Besides, as @astrosrule points out repeatedly, Brunson is URF while KPJ will be RFA. Very different.
Good ****, and Parsons did that playing with a HOF and everybody loved him, it's crazy how perception clouds people's ability to look at a person logically. Would like to see how KPJ stacks up to Haliburton everybody's favorite young combo guard.
I think this post goes to your player evaluation skills. Thinking he's been "outright bad" as a player is ridiculous.... if you think that, you must REALLY be low on Jalen Green.
And like I said this is all about you wanting to **** on Jalen. So transparent. I didn't need to work much this time
You've said this before, Green has only played ONE season. If Green's 2nd and 3rd seasons look like KPJ, then ya i would be extremely disappointed in Jalen and would consider him to be a bust at that point.
