If he put up numbers this season like how he finished last season? Easily.

Now will that happen? Almost certainly not, those are bordering on MVP numbers... but if he did, he'd easily get maxed out.

What is likely is that he'll put up good enough numbers to get into the 20-25 mill a year range.

Sometimes that is who you are hanging with as an 18 year old....

You can look at it that way or that he has made POSITIVE changes to his life and the people around him.

THANK GOD we aren't defined by what we did at 18.

take care of him now before the younger guys are up for new contracts, and while we have room, and maybe he blossoms and sticks around for his next one on a team friendly contract for us a contender. It also seems like he has the clutch gene

I just find it weird that dd and the same folks who only need only a few games to sht on green and moan how we whiff on him instead of drafting Mobley is now preaching patience and the potential greatness of kpj.

I can see y some folks r triggered.

In the NBA, you can be defined by what you did as a young male.

It is what it is in what of the most meritocratic industries.

I have a love / hate relationship with Porter. I do not personally know him, but as a Rocket fan he is very frustrating. I want great things for all people, including him. I care mostly for the team and, if paid handsomely, he could hurt the team not only short term but long term as well if he continues with some of his passed behaviors. In many ways he has Michael Carter-Williams qualities; then again maybe he is a future all star. Two years in and still more of the same. Always more questions than answers with him. I really just don’t know.

    Yikes. Truth bomb.

And JG is twice the prospect, and I say that as a huge KPJ fan.

So Hakeem is defined by him slapping teamates and getting into fights?

    Jordan same thing?

What about Barkley tossing a guy through a plate glass window?

Or how about Iverson who spent time in jail?

    JR Smith killed someone.....

Nah, I don't buy it, people love a comeback story.

Gilbert Arenas use to bring guns into the locker room.
Point them at teammates and play craps with dice.

NBA fan is quick to judge.....but don't judge them.

Not accurate. Gil carried like a lot of us do but it wasn't an issue until Crittenton who was a gang banger. He exaggerates because he's a social media person now. In reality he's one of the nicest people you'll meet. It's bouree by the way on the card game and closer to spades

The final incident was Booray.....like I implied, nobody complained
or reported it until it became a problem....if you get my drift?

I'm saying it wasn't just one incident

And I've also mentioned in another post, not all bad people are bad and
not all good people are good.....100% of the time. There have been
some nice people who embezzle, commit fraud, Ponzi schemes
that have hurt more people than a single murder.

Think the Barkley reference might need to be removed DD. Bad comparison. It was 97. He wasn't young and he was standing up for himself and a young woman from this dude throwing glasses at their party. Drexler backed this story up and bailed him out LOL.

    Wasn't in the wrong.

Martin Shkreli raised drug prices from $13.50 to $750

    Arrested for securities fraud

I'm sure people around him said he was a nice guy; but how
many people died because they could afford the prescription
    drugs?

    Who determines good from bad?

Because someone has a lot of money and wears a suit and tie?

I love KPJ and I love Jalen. Jalen will be the better player most likely, Infact I’d almost bank on it.

Right now KPJ is still ahead of him in terms of his overall game.

KPJ is 22, Jalen is 20. Let them grow together and see what happens.

Everyone is biased whether they see it or not. When KPJ was initially traded here and there was a small unit that would actually wait for Vipers games and rock the game threads and watch Scoot do things that just seemed special - dropping triple doubles all that stuff. What was the response? "its the gleague bruh chill". okay. Then the kid hits the big squad and does some historic stuff (50pt trip/dub) while going from playing a wing to the lead guard - what was the response? "it was only one game bruh like .000000001% of his games". Im certain if I pull that specific game thread that some people in here diminishing him did the very same thing in that game - like how? Why? SMH.

So the gist of the argument from his doubters in my opinion revolves around a distaste for him as a person while trying to frame it as if he's not a good player or not good enough to extend and thats where its stalled especially when it migrated to Jalen freaking Brunson who has almost identical stats!! But yeah "meaningful games" while ignoring the obvious tank job that went on last year. Its funny to me to see guys thumb their nose at the empirical data coming out about KPJ as a player and still resorting to the head case argument. From my perspective Kevin seems to have settled down with his new girl. He seems dedicated to his craft and has been working as much if not more than anyone on the team. Its okay to have doubts, but when guys start barking "moron, idiot, fool" solely because they DO see some talent then these talks arent coming in good faith. To your point just like last year with Jalen. I like to support the whole team as a fan. While I have favorites and a subjective opinion on roster building its not close enough for me to play cyber Lord over anyone else for having a differing opinion. I'll just eat my popcorn and wait for the fireworks at the end of the season. Win/Win for everyone.
