You clearly didnt see Davis Mills play, because he was great at deep passes, according to PFF he was in the top 5 last season in deep passes Mills' 123.5 passer rating on deep throws led the league last season. He completed 47.6% of his 42 attempts, earning an impressive 89.4 passing grade.

Honestly better than having a charismatic persona in public and being a creep behind close doors. Mills seems to be consistent and level headed, good qualities for a QB.

Pep is going to do wonders for Mills

Still think we are thin at all the offensive skill positions but the offense will be much much improved.

    Mills is the future.

Metchie would have helped a lot I think.
Cooks will do his thing. Nico has supposedly taken the second year jump. We will see who else rises to the top.

    Cooks
    Nico
And that’s it as far as real difference makers
If one gets hurt we are screwed
    Thin at WR

    Pierce
    T-Rex
Mack has been a bit underwhelming
    Still thin at RB

    Brown
    Brevin
If one gets hurt really thin at TE

We've been thin at TE for what feels like forever. Since Owen Daniels, I guess.

People bash him, but he was top 3 rookies last year, and he was a 3rd rounder,

Seems like people are hung up on his draft position with what Palmer and Rappaport mentioned yesterday. If he was a 1st round pick, he’d be held in much higher regard. Hence why trey lance has all this hype and buzz even though no one is really sure he can throw an accurate pass. What has trey lance done to show he’s better than Mills?

He’s done nothing to show he’s better. Except being a higher pick

Yesterday by all accounts was his worst practice. Every other day has been good to really good, even from non Texans evaluators or national evaluators.
Cover two limits deep balls, Mills is going to have to force it to see what they’re capable of.
Good thing is he was one of the best deep ball passers in the league last year.

Tom Brady, for a long time, was "wooden" while Peyton was Charismatic. Brady has loosened up over the years. I'll take a successful "wooden" Mills for a decade and he can loosen up after that.

This has Baker, Lance, brissett, Daniel jones, jameis, wentz, hurts, and Geno freakin smith ranked higher than Mills, I’d take mills over all of those guys easily.

He’s gotta prove it. I like the fundamentals he brings to the table but he’s gotta execute

I wanted to see Davis Mills play longer yesterday. I don't understand why he didn't get more reps with Kyle Allen being out due to covid. Driskell played for practically the entire game.

It was weird. Called screens and run plays while he was in.
Maybe they wanted to just run a few live action plays and protect him. A lot of teams played their starters minimal plays or didn’t play, I would have preferred him to stay in for a 3rd series after that turnover.
