    Saw this today.

The new CEO seems like he’s on a huge power trip. Not to say this movie should see the light of day, but he should be fired for canning Raised by Wolves.

Raised by Wolves had a strong group of fans, but most people stopped watching it after season 1, so it makes sense.

Canceling raised by wolves was hard but
This batgirl movie was already done and it isn’t going to be released on anything

it must have been horrendous that it would have ruined the studios reputation and stock price

I can't think of a better way to stir interest in a terrible movie.
Anyone think they may "respond to the outpouring from fans" and release it via HBO Max in like a month?

Nah it was written and produced by the same geniuses behind Birds of Prey.

After season 1's WTF finale, I lost all interest. The wife watched season 2 and was okay with it.

New CEO does seem to be cutting a lot of programs. Jury is still out if the moves are good or not. But I can't imagine it being done for no reason.

The banhammer has been leveled since Discovery took over. They have cancelled pretty much every dc series on tv as well.

Damn, I was looking forward to this.... Guess I'll have to look elsewhere for my woke cinematic universe fix....

Probably need millions for VFX to be able to stream it and they decided to ditch the sunk cost fallacy.

I kind of want to see it now....

What level of irredeemable woke trash is considered too worthless to be released? Given what actually gets released, it has to be next level.

I hadn’t even heard of that there was a Batgirl movie in the works until today.

I listened to a discussion on this in NPR and while the movie do do poorly in focus group showings there have been other movies that did poorly that still made it to release. For example the Val Kilmer Batman. What it sounded like was the studio figure they can write off the loss and that will be more beneficial to the bottom line than what they might’ve made releasing it.

DC showing restraint while Marvel's out here releasing a new movie every week about any and every hero ever created in 73 phases each culminating in ... the next phase... :D

While that's true, the DCEU is kind of on life support at the moment. The Suicide Squad kind of bought them a bit of life, perhaps they were worried that another embarrassment would be the last nail in their coffin.
