I doubt they would have asked for Smith unless they had some ideas how to fix him. He has a track record and checks off a need. I have no idea if we could have gotten more but we're better off in the playoffs with Smith instead of Odorizzi. Just my opinion... The downside of the trade to me is purely opportunity cost of if they could have done better. That's an unknown right now...
He's played around a full season now worth of PAs in his MLB career and in that time has put up 3.4 WAR while improving at the plate this season. That's not an easy place to improve from.
To me if they can’t get Reynolds or Mullins then Happ has to be the guy. I do not want Taylor or Laureano.
This is crap. This is what happened last year when dodgers swooped in and got 2 of the biggest players while we were hoping maybe we will get 1 if the dodgers get the other
The Padres would be STACKED with their starting pitching plus Soto + Bell + the return of Tatis Jr. Good grief. World Series championship roster if that trade goes down.
It’s a joke. SkyGodz is near the top of the list of worst posters on this site. Maybe even the worst.
I want Happ as the target. Gives you the fix now for CF/Utility this year and next year. I think in this lineup, he would be a perfect 2-hole hitter
