I’m sure that was a significant factor in NY targeting him. But I’m still not worried about Montas.

Not sure why we’re posting fake news like that. The pirates have said Reynolds isn’t being traded. Not sure if that’s to add leverage or id they’re serious. At this point I expect Vasquez and a platoon bat to be traded here.

I think its worth posting if someone is showing high conviction. As mentioned. Its a D level source.

The Brewers just traded their all star closer out of no where.

I'm not "worried" about anyone. However Montas has a track record of going deep into gms against Houston. Where we have a couple of guys that we're relying on (Framber + Garcia) who could barely get through 2 IP in the playoffs last yr.

Hold up. Milwaukee is in 1st place, only 3 games ahead of the Cardinals, and they trade one of the most dominant relievers in the game at the deadline for nothing that can help them now?

Something is a fud at the Circle K

They said they’ll listen to offers on Hader. Hader hasn’t been the same dominant pitcher for a month or two. Supposedly he’s been pitch tipping so SD will try to fix it. Same as Rodgers for SD.

Rhys Hoskins .812 OPS ( career worst so maybe trending down or buying low) and has 1 more season before FA.

    For Jose Urquidy and Siri.

Phillies desperately need to make the playoffs based on factors like spending and expectations of ownership and fans.

Urquidy instantly becomes their #4 starter.

They have, by far, the worst OF defense in MLB.

They also have scored the 5th most runs in MLB despite having Bryce Harper out for a significant part of the season and a very weak hitting CF ( Herrera .658 OPS) so adding Siri would not be be much of a loss in run production.

But it would allow the team to either play youngster Daric Hall who has .789 OPS in 90 PA or move Schwarber there ( he played there for Boston after trade last year) and strengthen the OF defense even more.

I would not say Hader was “out of nowhere.” High level guys like Rosenthal, Passan, Herman, etc. said teams were discussing him in trade talks. If somebody REALLY blew the Pirates away I could see them changing their minds, but that guy is unreliable, the package he stated does not sound anywhere close to enough, and he couldn’t even spell his first name right.

Montas don’t have any track record pitching in ALCS or WS games like Framber and Garcia. I’m not worried about what other teams are doing. Improved our team first and foremost then deal with them when we meet in the playoff.

if the Astros fail at the deadline again like last year, that is 2 world series in a row lost at the deadline.

Per Joel Sherman, Devin Williams, who the Padres traded for Hader.

Gave up an ER on 5/10.
Since then has done the following:
    30 gms
    28.2 IP
    Zero runs
    .115 BA
    8 BB
    47 K

He becomes MIL new closer. Hader a FA after next yr.
