That would be huge, but this does not answer the question I raised to Bobby and DD regarding what "PG skills" KPJ has that Green does not. How many assists would JG avg if he was the lead ball handler and decision maker on the team?

Green doesn't have the vision to create for others and his passing isn't on the same level. His handle also isn't on the same level.

Green would've been a turnover waiting to happen if he was thrust into the role KPJ had last year.

He showed some promise after the all star game, so there's a chance he develops these skills going forward, but he didn't have them last year. His best role is as a SG, not a PG or combo guard. The hope would be that eventually he could become a combo guard, which would make the fit with KPJ be even better.

    ”even better”
yeah, true, but that would be a low-priority match, esp with Sengun having playmaking skills

It falls under my approach to team building,
    1. Avoid collecting players with similar weaknesses on defense, and
    2. Similar strengths on offense is often a luxury you can trade away to fill weaknesses

Green would have less assists, but throw the ball to the other team less than KPJ.

The team is better when you have multiple players who can initiate the offense. I don't think we need to be thinking about trading away Green just because he's really terrible defensively. If he develops into a combo guard, you'd have essentially 3 guys who can run the offense with 2 of them being knock down shooters....that's incredibly difficult to stop.

Having multiple creators puts extra pressure on opposing defenses making them expend a lot more energy, which will harm them on the other end. So even though Green is a terrible defender, he's still a keeper IMO especially since KPJ is a two way player and you have a defensive juggernaut in Jabari Smith. It shouldn't be that difficult to hide Green on that side of the ball...and who knows, he may eventually figure out how to play a bit of defense. He at least made a few plays last year.

If you have to walk on eggshells like that, then you really don’t have someone you can trust. Your scenario basically admits to being extorted for extra money by bad behavior.

That's the case with every player though, if you insult them with an offer that is basically half of what they can get on the open market, they will feel disrespected.

Now I don't think that'll actually happen, so we're really just talking about unlikely hypotheticals. The Rockets likely offer something in the 15-18 mil range, which is still a lowball offer, but it's not an insulting one. IMO that's the smart move. It shows the young core that the team is willing to pay their top players when the time comes.

You should never be fooled into thinking that the concerns of certain pearl clutching fans are the same as the concerns of the team.

Usual Typical nonsense by boobythegreat to sht on green.

He lacks the pg skill, meanwhile kpj is given the opportunity to play and learn = he lacked pg skills also.

Lacks vision? Green was able to get 2.6 assists and is often deferring the ball to his teammates while kpj gets criticized for lacking it also. Both pale in comparison to sengun court vision

Double standard. Rags on folk for dissing kpj game citing unreasonable irrational hatred proceeds to put down green w/ the same mentality

Not surpised boobythegreat has to sht on green one way or another

LOL, only a simpleton would think that I was "shtting" on Green by pointing out the obvious. He currently lacks the skills required to be a PG or combo guard....that's not an insult, it's just the obvious truth.

Green was at his best when he was knocking down catch and shoot type shots or creating his own shot especially when it comes to transition or when the defense isn't set for one reason or another. Towards the end of the season he started to sprinkle in some assists because he started to see the most basic looks, but he's still nowhere near where KPJ is when it comes to creating shots for others.

The reason Green deferred to his teammates was because he wasn't all that good when it came to having the ball against set defenses. Now that could certainly come with time, in fact, I expect it to....but we can't say that it's part of his game till it is.

The whole point of what I was saying was how well KPJ and Green compliment one another....yet somehow you took that as insulting your hero. How do you expect me to take you seriously when you act like that?

We have a winner on the KPJ contract guessathon!!! My guess is he doesn’t make it two years here and likely not through this full season. He’s got issues and we can all have a pie in the sky attitude, but the reality is he’s shown nothing even close to mental stability in his three NBA seasons and these things typically get worse over time. We basically have the Josh Gordon of basketball….enjoy him while he’s here, but waste of time to think years down the road.

Lol at the white knighting by the same group of people. Sad ****. Nobody is paying KPJ until he shows he isn't a loser like the people who support him are(not a surprising coincidence)

Josh Gordon was way more talented than this bum. He was a alcoholic but wouldn't call him a loser like KPJ
