Not the first time we’ve been swept by Oakland after a big, emotional series. Am I right or am I right, @Buck Turgidson?
Deja vu...starting a series against the Mariners with a 10 game lead in the division and the Mariners feeling good about a chance to cut into that lead.
Dusty was hanging his head a little after the final out in the dugout. I don't know why. It's obvious he wasn't really taking this series seriously with the approach to the lineup.
We really need Brantley back. No Pena, Bregman or Brantley in the lineup--today's lineup was not much better than the lineups that the lower third of the league trots out every night. Six guys hitting under .237. Not a lineup to win games where you have to score 4 runs or more.
We have reached the point where I am legitimately concerned about Brantley. If we really are willing to trade one of the young starters as reported today, give me Bryan Reynolds for left field.
Days off are a part of the game today But what other manager rests regulars in EVERY game if a series? When we play game 7 of the ALCS AT yankee stadium, you can thank dusty
The Astros aren't going to push their players for 60 games and reduce their chances of winning all the other postseason games so that IF the Astros & Yankees meet in the ALCS AND they get to a game 7, they have maybe an extra 10% chance of winning. Any kind of analytics would tell you pushing your players for 2 months for an extremely small benefit is not anywhere close to worth it. Getting a top 2 seed and avoiding an extra series? Worth it. Trying to chase down the #1 seed instead of #2 seed? Extremely not worth it.
Lol We had some 20 year olds have 3 days off last week and we need to give them days odd this week too? lolol ok
We were playing some uninspired ball in the second half of 2017. 37-29 to close out the season isn’t bad, but no where near the torrid first half. Also some schizo ramblings: we won a total of 112 games (counting postseason) in 2017. All we gotta do is win 101 games again and we got 2022 in the bag.
Yep, tough stretch Don’t know if another manager who would play an entire series without using your best lineup at least once though? At least it worked out huh
Woof. I didn't realize it was a day game ... Glad I missed the agony of watching the Astros getting their asses handed to them by the A's.... That's baseball for ya ... But it's Still pathetic to be so dominated by this terrible franchise.
"as the Reds drifted, then nose-dived late in the year, Baker insisted there was no need for urgency."
Brah.. it’s baseball. Whining over a lineup in a single series is about as useless as t*** on a boar hog. Take a chill pill. There’s a reason they play so many games. Law and averages always play out in a long season. I’d rather them get this out of their system in the second half than drain the guys just to keep up with the stankees. They will hit a wall and hopefully it’s right when playoffs start
