Is anyone else having a hard time imagining this? I mean, I'm very excited DL has had back-to-back solid games and reports are saying amazing things, but...

    - Am I crazy to think we're smoking crack to think DL can consistently ring up minutes at SG when real season starts?

Ok, I'll buy he could play 5-10 mins at the position, but in only certain situations.

He won't be guarding Kobe, but wow a 6-11 SG that just blows my mind. Think of the line-up we could throw out in a zone D and the different types of Z-D that we could use with the different types of players we'll have.

Very interested in anyone who has seen DL play extended mins and can comment on his lateral movement, quickness, and individual defensive skills. If the boy can play D and shoot from both the SG and SF spots we may have a big bonus that we hadn't counted on.

I realize this is only summer league and hell SAC is running their Turk at PG so almost anything goes.

I think Langhi is gonna have a GOOD year this year. Last year, when I went to the Hawks game, I saw him for about 10 min or so. He looked really nervous when he took his shots and didn't really want anyone to pass him the ball. I think that is gonna change really soon.
AS for Langhi as SG, that would mean the Rockets would HAVE to play zone. As quick as he is for his size, there is no way he'll be quick enough to guard Kobe, TMac, etc.

I asked Langhi how he liked playing the two and he said that it was just an experiment by Rudy, but he thought it was going well. He went on to say that he would play any position that the coaching staff wanted him to.

What I like about Dan is his flexibility. He has no fear taking it to the rack and can shoot lights out. I have noticed that he has bulked up from last year's summer games and his strengh, along with his confidence, are the keys to him become a real impact player in the NBA.

Actually, why not...if he is not slower than, let's say, Shandon...why shouldn't he play the SG - his height would be a huge advantage as it would be much harder to shoot over him, plus, if they get past him, there are still the monster blockers Eddie, Webber and Hakeem (hopefully... [IMG]). That would be a huge lineup...

    ------------------
Rockets' offseason tasks in order of priority:
    • Get rid of Cato under any circumstances.
    • Sign Chris Webber.
    • Re-Sign Hakeem.
    • Re-Sign Moochie and AirBullard.
    • Pick up the Langhi option for another year.
    • Trade for Bo Outlaw and Raef LaFrentz.

Also, it would be great on offense...he could just try and shoot over these guys like Kobe or Vince...

Dan will be a major contributor this year and at 6-11 and more weight the place he can play ranges from the 4 to 2. He should play 20 minutes per game with most coming as backup SF.

In my opinion Griffin has to start at SF just based on his defense and rebounding. He is good for at least 30 minutes per game.

I have to admit that while I was very impressed with DL in college, I really didn't think it would translate over to the NBA game. But who knows? If he has strengthened up and has the right attitude (which he apparently does), then why not? I think a 6-11 SF/SG with his touch can be another important piece in the mismatch matchup puzzle. Go Dan Dan the 6-11 Man!
