I assumed he's a serviceable OF still? I dont see why he couldnt play in LF.

And Bell is the 1B starter right away imo.

I wanna push for Alek Thomas for some reason to take over for Brantley next year.

Ive been reading about him and he is pretty decent all around speed Def and hitting

That sucks. Trade possibility aside, you hate to see injuries period. Even worse when it’s a re-aggregation of a previous injury. Hope he gets well and makes a successful comeback.

So, it seems like you have spent a lot of time looking at fat butts.

JD is a disaster in LF.
    Bell at first
    Yordan at LF
    JD at DH
Brantley- if he’s back and healthy, great AOH option for catcher or Jake late in the game. you can’t count on Brantley being healthy/good in a October. If he is, cool- you have 7 absurdly high quality PH bats to use in a series. That’s not a bad “downside” to a trade.
This is assuming JD doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. When he got traded 5 years ago in his walk year the return was light. That was when he could still play the Of. I expect his return to be even lighter now.
It’s a deal Boston makes to relieve payroll, do a veteran a service and catch a lotto ticket or two, not a deal they do figuring they are going to rape your farm system.

It would take a crap ton to get him. He’s a top 50 prospect (graduated) who has performed pretty well in his rookie year. They’re not giving him up.

Any interest in Chafin? I was hoping Astros went there. Solves a bullpen need as well as a lefty need. He’s been really good. Chafin/Stanek/montero/pressly the first 3 being in no particular order could really close out some games

The Astros recent history might suggest that they’ll end up trading for someone more under the radar, often with a couple years under contract. Who are some players that might fit this MO?

FYI Wilson Contraras has been pulled from the Game?

He was seen hugging his team mates like he was saying good bye

Perhaps, but from what I read that was the last game at Wrigley before the trade deadline and with Contreras and Happ likely to be moved, that display could’ve been nothing more than a goodbye salute to the Chicago faithful

    I read the same
Mets are saying they want him badly but we all know the mets they want everybody

Pretty emotional Contraras was Teary eyed

Example Mets are talking to the Angels about Ohtani
