I love how a bunch of throwaway references from Saul in Breaking Bad are used as the starting point for the plots in Better Call Saul. Attention to detail in this show (and Breaking Bad) is unparalleled.
im not sure how walt and jesse can be introduced unless its a flash-forward scene. or something as simple as those 3 guys all separately getting lunch at el pollo loco, sitting in booths right next to each other (which would actually be pretty funny!). we are due for one last "mike being a total badass" scene. something bigly has to go down before its over! i think the last four episodes will primary be about gus, the meth lab and mike bringing saul (reluctantly) into the world of the cartel.
Why am I not surprised they are making Gus Fring gay, or did I miss something in Breaking Bad and this series?
The partner that Hector killed at Don Eladio's house all those years ago in Breaking Bad, was his "partner." I don't think that was explicitly stated but seemed like that was the case. Also the reason Gus has been pretty much dedicating the rest of his life to getting revenge. I mean, have we ever seen Gus show emotion like this for anyone else?
Since this show was announced my guess was that Saul does something to get Mike's daughter her money. But that was before I knew Kim existed. So.... who the **** knows what he's doing at that Cinnabon.
I remember that scene I just never remember them even hinting that was Gus's man... Yeah, its the only time Gus has reacted like this but I thought it was because it was the first time seeing someone he knew or cared about get murdered right in front of his eyes.... It may be, the only hint is that Gus is never seen with a woman as a love interest at all. Both BB and BCS have been woke free... Here we go I guess...
I was wondering about this too. From Gus Fring's wiki page. https://breakingbad.fandom.com/wiki/Gustavo_Fring#Season_2_2 One thing we'll probably see is the behind-the scenes of that. Saul setting up the meet with Gus for Jesse and Walt, and Gus watching them from afar and choosing not to talk with them. Who know what other behind-the-scenes surveillance Gus was already carrying out on Walt. I'm guessing Gus will already know A LOT about Walt before they meet for the first time.
I don't know, I definitely remember getting a "vibe" the first time I saw the episode. I don't even remember this, but there was also this scene.
The episode was great. Comparison is the root of all evil though. I'm still waiting to see how they end the show with a bang (too soon Howard?) While resolving all the loose ends. Kim has to come back..,right? That's why he ditched the sommelier. He can't show emotion either because he has unfinished biz and/or he can't go back to when his bff died. Subtle but Gus scenes are always subtle.
Speaking of subtle, Gus liked staring at the swimming pool way too much. Instead of a callback, is that a call forward?
I thought it was pretty great, really kind of gives you that full view of Jimmy, Saul & Gene. Even though he was setting up a scheme to get that one guy off his back with his plan for mutually assured mass destruction, he still enjoys the game even after everything he's been through and lost....
Spoiler I was expecting a Breaking Bad type of episode instead we got a black and white movie about stealing clothes from a department store. I get that they wanted to show us the same old Jimmy but I was disappointed.
Spoiler I think that's still coming because there are a few cameos that haven't occurred just yet. I'm assuming the finale will be in the Gene timeline....
Pretty frustrating because they've already spent a lot of the seasons with slow episodes to build up characters or to show us things we didn't know, this close to the finale they really shouldn't waste an entire episode on what amounted to very little.
Just saw the last of Howard episode. Totally wasn’t expecting that. But, I don’t understand why Jimmy and Kim were so hell bent on ruining Howard in that meeting? I must have lost my sense of continuity on the ongoing Howard dispute. Was it really just for the fun and thrill of it?
