I like her logic. They were trying to silence Steve by inviting him to talk. He refused. He then refused to testify in his own defense and was convicted.

Until everyone accepts the fact that he really is just a troll and ignores his constant troll posting (even in the GARM) we'll all be better.

His (troll) post-rate makes DaDakota in his heyday look like an amateur.

His zeal is like New Yorker's in its heyday without the double account.

I'm not sure if he knows it or cares but he's responsible by volume for the rising toxicity here.

Bannon refused a subpoena. Tulsi is either being intentionally misleading or she is dumb.

The right sees the Jan 6th rioters as patriots, and the trial as a kangaroo court, and Bannon and Trump are heros for trying to overthrow a legitimately won election by Biden.

That needs to tell you everything about the rights position in all this. And as they attack and mock the hearing, they implicitly ignore what actually happened. Saying the system 'worked" and therefore they should be no punishment is like saying that the "system worked" when someone tried to assassinate Reagan and therefore John Hinckley should have never gone to prison.

Not true! I never posted articles from Jonathan Turley.

    Joking aside, I don't see @Os Trigonum as a troll. @Trader_Jorge, now he's a troll.

Bannon Prosecutors Warn That 330 Million Additional Americans With Contempt For Congress Still Roaming Free

Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon has been found guilty of contempt of Congress, which is one of the evilest crimes one can commit against Congress. While prosecutors expressed relief at the verdict, they also warned that there are still 330 million Americans with extreme contempt for Congress who are still roaming around freely.

"At last the monster Steve Bannon who dared to have contempt for the sacred Select Committee will face justice," said prosecutor Molly Gaston to reporters. "Sadly, he's not the only danger to our hallowed democracy. I have just received word that there are over 330 million people in this country who have dangerous levels of contempt for Congress. They must be stopped."

The January 6th Committee has sent subpoenas to every single person in America in order to test their loyalty and make those with contempt easier to find. The DOJ responded by sending letters to FBI field offices across the country with guidance on how to round up these dangerous criminals who despise their elected representatives.

"Mark my words," said Attorney General Garland. "Those who don't like us will be hunted down and brought to justice."

At publishing time, the number of guilty Americans rose to 370 million.

Funny. But still, refusing to comply with a subpoena should land you in jail.

Eric Holder and the Republican-led House fight was over executive privilege. They settled.

OS is much more of a troll. I had to put him on ignore for trolling everything I posted and non stop ridicule. It was like some punk in a middle school, and I prefer to chat with adults.

We have a structural problem in that when Congress finds someone in contempt, they can't actually do anything but refer them to the DOJ for prosecution. In Holder's case, they'd be referring him to his own DOJ, so prosecution wasn't in the cards at all. That gives the AG (and his president, by extension) more immunity than is appropriate and that really shouldn't stand. On the flipside, the Republicans back then knew the score, knew a finding of contempt wouldn't bring consequences, so it was easy for them to vote in favor as a bit of political theater. If they really had been serious about it, they could have impeached Holder. Articles of impeachment were introduced but Boehner never allowed a vote on it. They have a stick, but it is often too big to be useful. I think this whole thing would work a lot better if Congress had the capacity to actually enforce its subpoenas itself and not have to rely on the executive branch to execute. Or else they should be able to compel the DOJ to execute. Our Congress shouldn't have to go about with cap in hand begging for testimony in order to fulfill their Constitutional duties. But at least in the case of Holder or Jordan or McCarthy, there's niceties about the separation of powers or parliamentarian rules because of their own roles in government. Steve Bannon is just a private citizen like me and there is no considerations of the balances of power to be fretted over. Just like I could be called to testify against an embezzling coworker or a drug-dealing neighbor, so too should Bannon be compelled.

He was pardoned for a reason. He can't turn on the dirty hand that fed him. That's life in the Trump mob of felons.

The Democrat controlled congress and the current regime are brazenly weaponizing the government against their political adversaries. It is as blatant as it can be, it is in everyone's face, and intended to be so. They want everyone to see them doing this.

    These people are absolutely despicable.

I don't see how compelling evidence and testimony that is relevant to their investigation, which is part of their Constitutional duty, is in any way weaponizing the government against political adversaries. If it's all innocent, Bannon has nothing to hide anyway. But, I don't know how you can expect Congress to in any way be equal to the other branches of government if they aren't given the powers necessary to fulfill their duties. Nothing despicable at all about doing their jobs.
