With KJ Martin apparently sitll wanting a trade, Bimathug on Twitter mentioning Charlotte would be a good spot for KJ Martin now that they don't have Bridges got me thinking, and I think I'd totally be open to a deal involving pick swaps.

Spurs own their 2023 pick but top 16 protected. So maybe a structure that's like
    KJ
    for
right to swap either our HOU or MIL pick with Charlotte pick IF it ends up 6-15 (so top 5 protected)
If that doesn't convey, top 10 protected swap in 2024 with our BKN pick
If that doesn't convey, maybe converts to a future 2nd

You can play with the protections, I'm not sure where Charlottes line would be

Basically just increasing the value of these picks. I don't really know exactly how much value KJ Martin has on the market but I don't anticipate us getting a premium 1st for him, but I love the idea of making our picks we own even more valuable. And this helps roster crunch, I think it's a problem if we acquire TOO many future picks

Stone needs to get in on this trade to move EGo to Lakers (who they covet) and Myles Turner to Rockets.

Supposedly Pacers want 27 and 29 FRPs from Fakers for Turner and Hield; Fakers balked.
If we could steal Turner for one FRP….

Lakers insane if they believe THT is more valuable than FRP.

2 FRP (2027 + 2029) for Hield and Turner is reasonable.

Adding Myles Turner and/or Matisse Thybulle makes too much sense.

    Defense matters.

Not giving up KPJ for Thybulle though.

Why would the Lakers want Gordon and Hield instead of Hield and Turner??

Conceptually, I’d give up Gordon and draft capital for Turner. So, maybe in a scenario like the below, the Lakers would only have to give up one FRP because we’d also send the Pacers draft capital?

Why? KPJ is a knucklehead and he isn’t that good.

I like Turner ok but he hasn’t come close to playing a full season since he was 20. He’s missed half the season the last two years playing a combined 89 games and missed at least a 4th of the season every year prior. The injuries scare me, especially the multiple foot surgeries. Taking on Turner is the kind of thing that can set a franchise back if not approached with caution. He needs to prove he can stay healthy and I’ve yet to see that for many years now. Availability matters especially when giving away assets to tie cap space to a guy with those kind of issues.

Yeah but Turner is $18M expiring
No future commitment unless we want to reup
But younger than EGo at position with far less depth
Not like EGo is some ironman either

How would they match salaries, Westbrick or third team? Would the Pacers take on Westbrick for those 2 picks? Couldn’t they find something better for Turner and Hield? Maybe not, depending on protections on the picks.

I'm not opposed to trading Ego for Turner. What I am opposed to is giving up multiple first round picks for an 18M expiring contract coming off multiple foot surgeries.

It is? If you have to take Russ back and buy him out? RW Shirley won’t be in a backcourt with Halliburton.

The Lakes should make that deal yesterday if it is out there.

I like EGo. I worry that if he is to become a February target that that puts a target on his health.

    Please trade the

Sixer fans are so delusional. They have no chance at KPJ. They probably can’t even get Gordon. They only have one real trade asset in Thybuille, who can’t shoot. Nobody wants Harris.

Harris makes almost any team better…the problem is you pay handsomely for the privilege of not having a weak link at the wing. He’s the answer to the question “what if you want to compete for a title but you don’t have Lebron, KD, Kawhi, Giannis, Or Jaylen Brown”…but agree he doesn’t make sense for non contending teams and otherwise the number of contending teams without the above players is limited too…and the number of teams who have cap space or players to make that deal is smaller still…

Lakers get what they get if they have jack in their wallet AND trying to dump Westbrook salary.

Pacers want TWO FRP and Lakers only offering THT + FRP.

Rockets addition to trade give Pacers the price they want, 2 FRP.

And Pacers can have THT to boot. Or we can move him to 3rd team for low FRP or 2 SRP.

    True.

But it is this concern why Pacers willing to trade such young talent while they rebuild.

Nerlens Noel (or Kelly Olynyk) is another option imo.

Sengun is the future at 5 but still need another legit backup 5.
