You know JVG rotation is real tight, so what do you think it will be Fish jj T-mac Jowon Yao Lue Mo Gaines?
He will easily get more minutes than Gaines, Boki is going to be on the rotation, he could have been part of the T Mac deal but we kept him, surely there are plans for him here in Houston.
i think boki can be molded into a bruce bowen type of player--decent offensive skills with a lot of hustle on the defensive end.
we need him to be just as good on defense then. offensively, he might be better than Bowen but 1. that's not saying a lot and 2. i don't see him being a BIG contributor to our offensive plans. i think in order for boki to get more PT and to play better, he has to level up on his D. this is not a knock on his D, but it's just a way for him to stay on the court for longer spans if he can be a defensive stopper that JVG is probably looking for.
I just can't even guess until we make a few free agent acquisitions. JVG mentioned that point guard and back up center are top priorities.
what about adrian griffin? i think this would be a solid 9 man rotation... fisher/lue j.j./griffin t-mac/boki howard/taylor yao/taylor provided we sign d-fish (i like him better than snow or barry). at the 2 and 3 those guys are interchangeable, especially in the jvg system. all 4 of them can play either position depending on match-ups. spoon could be worked in as well to provide more front-court depth. b/t the 3 power forward there should be enough to spell yao for 12 minutes a game.
