Anyone that spends money on a course to "learn sales" is not going to cut it as a salesman.

When I worked in sales, or even when I write cover letters or applications for things, I always think of this scene.

I completed Cardone’s program, one of my employers required it and paid for it.

While most of it is stupid and no-duh, there were rebuttals and prospecting techniques I learned from it.

What’s funny is, the real “sell this pen story” went like this according to Belfort.

    “sell me this pen”

“Are you in the market to buy a pen”

    “No”

“Then why the hell would I waste my time trying to sell you something you’re not in the market for?”

    That’s dumb.

Part of a salespersons job is to sell the person that they’re in the market for X product.

This entire thread makes me feel like I need a shower.

I really don't like sales people working on commission.

No, I despise false congeniality and obsequeousness. Turn it off and talk to me like a person or I can't trust you.

I like this better than "Hi there I was helping the Johnsons over there *points in some general direction away from my house* and was wondering if you like some ______."

Don't get me wrong, either way I'm just shutting the door in the middle of their pitch, but if someone talked **** I would at least do a double-take.
