    35-55 imo

It’s a fuzzy line, determined by health, personality, life status, etc. I know 50lbs who are going strong and I wouldn’t put them in that ‘middle age’ class based on how they look and live their life. On the other hand, I’ve met guys in their late 20s who are already on that deep downward slide.

Middle aged used to be viewed as 35-45 years old, but with retirement ages going up and "some" adults being extremely active into their 50's and 60's I have seen a lot of people refer to people in their late 50's as middle aged.

I agree with though, strictly speaking 35-40 would be middle aged... but now a lot of people aren't getting married or having kids to that age.

I think there have been less than 500 men to ever reach 110 recorded in the entire world (in modern times), no way 55 is middle-aged for men or women. I'm just saying it's at all a function of literal meaning to the phrase "middle aged" it should add up lol

First Ave has standards okay? Prince humped that stage and stroked a water gun from his crotch into the crowd.

Saw that on the local news this morning.

First Ave. is the venue that was made famous from Purple Rain but it’s also a music venue management company that controls most of the venues in the Twin Cities. First Ave. moving Chappelle to the Varsity isn’t a sacrifice on their part since they control both venues.

I haven’t been to the Varsity in a while but I recall it being smaller than the First Ave. night club. Also if they’re trying to avoid controversy the Varsity is only a couple of miles east of First Ave and is by the U of MN. It seems more like an area where protest would break out.

No one should mistake a comedian for a bully. It's those that laugh at others but can't laugh at themselves that are bullies and the most deserving of being the subject of ridicule. The highest form of comedy is holding sanctimony up for ridicule and that's what the best do.

Dave Chappelle's brand of comedy is an heir to this legacy. It punches up at sanctimonious activists and especially at the sanctimony itself. The more you declare yourself sacredly exempt from ridicule, the funnier it is for everyone when you are the target of a master comedian. I don't see it as any different than Lenny Bruce making fun of the Catholic Church and the more highly-offended Catholic activists got the vapors and tried to silence him for his blasphemy, the funnier Lenny got and the worse they looked.

My dad, was a mean-spirited narcissist, always punching down in his humor on people who were afraid to joke back. That's because he so incredibly thin-skinned, no one was ever allowed to make fun of him, ever, to the point of starting bar fights with good-natured strangers with a healthier sense of humor.

Mr. Redd Foxx will forever be my hero for walking up to my narcissistic father in the front row in a club in Vegas, rubbing his bald head and then dead panning to the audience "I always wondered what it was like to rub a honkey's balls" and having the the whole place unable to breathe because they were laughing so damn hard at him while he pouted like a toddler.

The freedom for people like Redd Foxx to make a living humiliating people like my dad is a principle worth dying for.

As a footnote, the word "bigot" means intolerance of the opinions of others. It's the last thing I'd accuse any comedian of. Etymologically, it comes to English from Old French and was literally a French slur for Normans, so when you use it, you are oppressing me, my family, and any others with Norman ancestry with hate crimes and anyone who does should be doxxed and lose their job.

But really, not sure what BLM or antifa has to do with this. Seems like a free speech thing. Dave isn't entitled to any stage in the country.

This is just my own POV but I’m not aware of any large protest against Chappelle. I’m seeing almost no discussion of it on social media other than some people going to the show and changing locations.

I don’t know what info First Ave. had but this seems like an overreaction on their part.

Yeah I agree. But here's the thing, it's not just a left phenomenon. The right loves to cancel stuff too. Books, Disney, transgender tolerance, abortions, immigration, clean air, flag kneelers, on and on and on.

People use their power all sorts of ways. If a venue is so weak that it can't have a Dave Chappelle show because of pressure from their patrons, then they don't deserve Dave Chappelle. They aren't canceling him in this instance, they are just showing how weak they are.

Is there such a thing as Rose City Antifa? Is there such a thing as Antifaschistische Aktion - Wikipedia? Do any organized groups (people with group chats, discord servers, etc.) ever gather under a symbol with a black flag and red flag bearing the terms Antifacist Action? Do white supremacists exist?

The protests shown in that story aren't in Minneapolis and I'm still not aware of any large protests against Chappelle and I was in downtown yesterday. I This story certainly isn't leading local news.
