Would be great if they could play AND win.

    Remember wins?

Those were the things the D'Antoni era collected.

It's not about production with #24 pick, but potential.

Right now production is close with edge to Grimes but Jaygup potential is higher.

But Grimes is the modern day wing - already a legit 2 way player who is consistent from 3.

Pretty crazy that in the last two drafts we've had the following picks:

    #2
    #3
    #16
    #17
    #23
    #24
    #29

That's literally the same as having 7 teams first round picks in 2 years. Most teams excited just to have A first round pick. What's even crazier is we MAY have only struck out on 1 (Garuba) but that has yet to be seen.

This thread could’ve gone any which way from Cam Thomas, Bones Hyland, Grimes…

This ended up being a really good post. I think they both look good. No regrets, but Grimes looks solid!

    All wins matter.

Especially on a team that has lost on a historic level.

I wanted Grimes, but I think Christopher will be a solid NBA player too.

Hopefully they both do well. I followed Grimes heroics in college. But we have Josh Christopher on the team, and I’m rooting for him to prove the Rockets picked him justifiably over Grimes.

Did he really? I didn't watch anything but the Rockets games for the most part, but I look at Grimes' numbers and, at least on offense, it just looks like he was chucking shots. He averaged 22 ppg on 17 shots, shooting around 42% and 31% on 3's (he shot 11 3's per game, damn), and 69% on FT's. *shrug* I dunno.

Now that we got Smith in lieu of Banchero, I am more in on Chistopher over Grimes. Christophee will be the ideal shot creator off the bench.

I like grimes more as a guy who can fit in with a team and play his role. JC is the more talented player, even though gets on my damn nerves lol

Christopher was a solid pick, but they should absolutely regret picking Garuba over Grimes.

No, Grimes genuinely had a good summer league and if he isn’t traded in a package for Mitchell, he is going to be a key piece for the Knicks. His defense is very good and he has clearly expanded his game since last season.

He needs to be a shot creator for more than just himself.

Not surprising, Grimes has shown nothing but measurable improvement year after year since his underwhelming freshman endeavor at Kansas. JC has a higher upside as a microwave scorer but any playoff team would certainly prefer Grimes to plug into their rotation at this point in their respective careers.

overall games are comparable but Grimes is a significantly better shooter. Plays the game in a more team oriented fashion and better iq. Grimes would still be my preference

There’s no minutes for Grimes on that Knicks roster. They’re briefed on guards. And he’s not better than any of them in front of him.

wrong. He'll actually be the 1st or 2nd guy off the bench. he's in for steady rotation minutes as it stands with their roster now

is grimes older? he looks like he will be a nice role player in the league for a long time.

Christopher's shot worries me. It looked really bad in Summer which is not what you want to see.
