Boy he sure had that Bachero look when the pick was announced. And his boys in the back all stoic and looking pissed was not a good look.

Possible. I just don't like the thought of Yordan running around out there with the knee issue he had, although I'm not sure how much better 1st is.

I'm sorry I asked a question, Buck. Won't happen again.

Good insurance if Tucker leaves during FA. I’m joking. Let’s resign Tucker

What was the question? I honestly wasn't paying attention, and I'm sorry.

Far more injuries in the IF than OF. IF is all about quickness, burst, and diving for the ball on every play. OF is more about straight-line speed, with diving plays rare.

It's the sudden bursts that put the most strain on those joints.

So what's the issue with Porter? Salary demands, hard college commit? Ranked 12th by MLB channel and still on the board.

Obviously DH is the least demanding on your knees. But first base involved a lot of bending and stretching, as well as quick lateral movement, and can take a toll on the knees as well. It may stereotypically be viewed by many casuals as the least athletic position in the game, but it is physically demanding in its own ways.

    OK then.

My point was, that this is not the NBA draft, and it will take ~3 years for these players drafted today to sniff MLB.

Yeah, I just figure that it's not out of the realm of possibility that they are thinking ahead to 2025 or so. Uncle Mike won't stay productive forever, and CF is still in flux. Plus at that point Altuve will be 35, so who knows?

I'm guessing Buck's hitting the wine tonight.

He can likely play CF in MMP. He isn’t fast like Siri but he is elite at reading the ball off the bat and gets a great jump and closes well.

He isn’t going to win a gold glove but will not be a liability either. He will be a positive defender there as long as he avoids injury.

Elite college prospects (Bregman) can force their way onto major league clubs a year after draft day, provided they obliterate the minors.

For the most part, the biggest reason there isn't more hype around the MLB draft is the distance these guys have from the show.

Fair enough, but that's not what's happening. These guys are so far away from contributing that it's just not a thing at all.

Astros supposedly got 2 of the 4 highest rated college outfield bats on their board and are pretty excited about it.
