Altuve skipping the All-Star game in LA isn’t a great look. It sucks that something that is supposed to be an honor would no doubt have been miserable for him. I’d say the knee is more important for sure, of course, but you have to wonder if that’s really why he’s skipping it, especially since he played today. Not that I personally care at all, but he’s going to catch even more hell now. I wish he’d just embrace the hate!
If he plays 2nd base without issue tomorrow then it'll be questioned more but he'll probably DH again. Easy to say he's well enough to bat 4 or 5 times a game as a DH but the bruise on his leg is still limiting his fielding ability.
I'm not too concerned about Altuve not playing. The All-Star game should be a showcase for "exciting" talent, preferably in their prime, which Altuve is not. I think its more important for non-scandal players like Tucker/Alvarez/young Astro pitching (hopefully Pena and Lee someday) to be playing to turn the page.
