What are the odds that we've ALREADY found our starting lineup for years to come?

Agreed, I don't think Tari is a guarantee, but I want him to get a shot to show he can be a starter.....unless the Rockets land another top pick. I think Tari would be by far the weak link in the OP's proposed starting 5, but I'm a big fan of his so I hope he pulls it off. His future is probably a bench piece, but the upside is there.

Right now I think KPJ/Green/Jabari/Sengun are pretty set unless KPJ does something dumb or Sengun shows he is a defensive/rebounding liability playing center

I’d like to think we are good enough to not be in the bottom 5 unless we try. I expect KPJ & Green to let the league know they are coming. I’m super excited for Sengun also.

If we don’t have a top 5 pick I expect us to drop money on a SF in free agency, as well as loading the bench with one or two quality high level role players

I would like to see Tari as a starter but I think we will drop money on a SF if we don’t draft top 5

Tate or KMJ will probably be moved this year. I think TyTy, Christopher, Tate, and KMJ will all be tradable next year depending on who we can pay in free agency to come off the bench

0% chance. You could only think this is the case if you are somehow completely unaware of how frequently players move around.

Id like that to be the lineup for 2022-2023 and then we see.

I think reality dictates that what is gold won't stay. Someone will fall off.

Guys I’m sure are part of the core starters for the future: Jalen Green

Guys I’m sure we’ll commit to for the next few yrs: Sengun, Jabari, Tari

Those 4 guys aren’t going anywhere. Everyone else is gonna have to push their way into that core. KPJ is closest to doing it if he has a stellar yr on and off the court.

It's a really great mix of skill sets for sure. If you took out sengun and put in jokic this would be an up and coming contender. Obviously a 2 time mvp does that, but I think that perspective gives an idea of how good sengun needs to be at his position given their overlapping strengths. Otherwise something will have to give.

Feel great about a long term SG and PF.

About 65% on Eason starting at SF. We'll see what his rookie year looks like.

Love Sengun, but I am a pretty staunch proponent of bigs being great defenders and rebounders, so I have Myles Turner as my free agent target next offseason as a perfect fit. Sengun I think lands in a bench role.

I have a love hate relationship with KPJ. We will see how his year goes. He may be PG by default, as other than Scoot Henderson, I dont see any surefire replacements.

Our 2023 draft pick is a complete wildcard. Could be any number of crazy outcomes.

Regardless, feeling good about the rebuild.

Well, if the Rockets pick right, it could be a very good group of starters. I think several of these folks may be eventual starters for other teams.

I think the task of the Rockets management is to find the right core. We all assume it starts with Green and Smith. But realistically, getting a good core group is a science, because synergy raises a team to the cream level. And getting a good core involves moving players who are filled with potential, but don’t accentuate the core group.

But I think all those guys mentioned in the OP’s post, will be starters for many years to come, and many will be all stars for other teams too.

i doubt any team in the league has their entire starting lineup for 2-3 years from now on their present roster... lol

id say we got maybe 60% of our starting roster in 2-3 years presently under contract... we may have 3 that will be starting for us in 2-3 years

Green Jabari Sengun are the 3 starters for sure. By the end of the season i think Tari will join them.

But I would like us to bring a vet PG to direct them, because I don't think a PG by comitee works for this young team. KPJ has the talent, but I just don't trust him and I have a feeling that he will clash with Tari and Jabari. They play with 100% effort and KPJ is known to have more downs than ups (I can't get that Memphis game out of my head ******* it), and I don't think the coaching staff or players will tolerate that anymore.

There were some reports at the start of the offseason that We were interested in Conley, and I would like us to go in that direction. We need a guy who can make it easier for the youngsters to get through the season. Doesn't need to be Conley, but a guy that will have similar impact as Rubio had for the Cavs last year for example.

2 or 3 of those guys likely will be gone within 3 years. Veterans win in the league so young guys will be traded for vets if the team wants to be a contender.

Alperen will eventually have 40-45 % of that offense run through him...this is going to be an offensive juggernaut. But, I also see him maturing into a real positive on the defensive side. What was perceived as a weakness will be looked on as a strength. In, Tari and Bari we have athleticism and length, which will fit with him. We do need a Mo Bamba type off the bench..but....

I don't think the odds are very good. We'd be lucky if out of this lineup we get 2 or even 1 player to be that franchise cornerstone that can reliably get us into the playoffs every year. I'm hoping for the best, but we've got to be realistic.

I'd like us to get to where we are a really good team and then hit on a #1 pick from Brooklyn that brings us a Magic instead of Nixon and/or a Worthy instead of Wilkes.
