If Deishen Nix was 6' inches taller. He would be perfect down low.

I agree. This even furthers the thought that Silas HAS to show some signs of growth. I'm not saying we're going to be a playoff team or even be a play in team. However, we cannot be bottom 3 anymore. We have too much talent to be dead last again. I've not been a fan of Silas from the jump but I've been optimistic. This season however, he's gotta show SOMETHING with the squad we're gonna have.

They have been pretty consistently outrebounded in the Summer League.

I just don't think they are a good rebounding team, and that isn't just because of the guys inside, but the guys on the perimeter as well.

One way of looking at it is that you can't be good at everything, and they can likely be good enough on the boards to not let it hurt them too bad long term.

Its cause we still consistently go with small, small forwards.

If EG starts at SF will continue to have this problem.

They need to start Alpi, Jabari, Eason imo

It's not even the losing that bothers me, it's the blow outs night after night.

Players around the league are watching the talent the Rockets have and going to be begging to play with us next summer: This is Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls

When asked about teams he is most excited to see after the 2022 summer and heading into the 2022-23 season, Caruso responded:

I’m really interested to see some of the Rockets’ guys. Kevin Porter Jr., Jalen Green, Josh Christopher, and then the big man (Alperen Sengun) — I can’t remember his name, but the big foreign kid that was MVP of the Turkish league when he came in last year, and he had a couple highlights.

I feel like they were just so young and immature that they didn’t know what they were doing, and that was fine with the organization. I’m really interested to see if they make the next steps, and understand the game, and see what winning is about. Because they’ve got all the talent in the world.

I'd bet my left nut EG or Tate is starting at the 3 and Sengun's lack of length and lift at the 5 will potentially hamper the D.

If we traded EG and acquired an active and reliable backup C with length (not 4 mpg Boban) then I'd agree our length wouldn't be a problem at that point.

At this stage of the rebuild, I don't think the FO is too concerned. I think a bigger concern should be getting some good vets around the young guys, long or not.

Damn! Left nut and the D. Some girl in Houston is going to be in trouble! Lol

But you're 100% correct. We can't have Sengun, Tate and Gordon starting. Even with Sengun starting next to Smith, you're still light along the frontline. That's why I thought we should've kept Wood one more yr.

A front court of Sengun, Wood and Smith would have been enough length to pair with Green and KPJ.

I get the point of this thread and to an extent agree. My thought though is that we are certainly longer and that will help.

I also thought that Smith rebounded well defensively in summer league.

The key will be Sengun. He may end up lacking in certain areas defensively but he must be an above average defensive rebounder.
