    Too lite in the ass!

There is no other way to put it. I know it's Summer League and these are rookies and players who will probably never see a NBA Roster BUT the way we lost that game last night is indicative of what I've seen in the past and of the Rocket's going forward....they lose games in the PAINT! REBOUNDING AND INTERIOR DEFENSE.

    I'm not counting Boban, because I don't think he can log consistent minutes. So that leaves;

    Sengun
    Jabari
    Tate
    Nwaba
    KMJ
    Tari
    Chris

    “I know it’s summer league…”

That realization should have stopped you from posting this thread.

    They got outrebounded by 3.

They lost the game cause they shot 7-38 (18%) from 3, and 26-82 overall. The Blazer made 1 less three but on 15 less attempts. The Blazers actually only had 68 shots the whole game. Rockets just couldn't shoot.

Summer league, college, regular NBA, whatever, if nearly half your shots are going to be 3 points, and you're going to shoot those at an 18% clip, you are going to lose those games 9x out of 10.

The Blazers made their come back by taking over the interior.

Is a larger team than the Rockets have had in a really long time.

We're really caring about whether we lost or won a SL game now?

Cant see a summer league team as part of the team itself... Because thats not the Rockets team, gotta look at the individual pieces and how they fit with the actual team. Tari and Jabari are going to give The Rockets length and defense. Non existent defense from Wood being replaced by two lock down defenders will make a difference . Both can also create their own shot somewhat, you dont want them to but some times thats all you get. Rockets are going to be really good in a couple of years...

I think we know we are light in the front court...
I think we are going to leave that deficiency - to allow for a few more losses this coming season...
Boban or even Holman will serve as a placeholder for the season...
Leave the deficiency so guys can hustle and do their best - but still lose more than they win...
Get a decent draft pick to add to a package for a better draft pick...
then grab one more nice piece from the next draft - and fill in any holes at that point via free agency...
then next year were playoff bound...
thats how i see it at least...

also Jabari really seemed to spend most of his time on the perimeter... seemed like it was by design... like they wanted him to work on stretching the floor and trying to pull his defender outta the paint...

If the only major problem of the team will be interior defense and rebounding, that’s great! We solved 90% of the problems and we can fix it somewhere along the way, which may not be a problem in the first place by the way.

Fans don't want rebounding bigs.. They want bigs that can shoot the 3 .. Dude can come in and gobble up 20 rebounds but they'll say " he needs to develop a 3 to stay on the floor" lol

So you see Sengun, Jabari and Tari on that list and not get excited? They will be beasts.

Harden probably hates watching this team. He likes the thick booty. Bbw.

Half the team is under 21. What do you expect? Most young people are thin. They will gain weight and get stronger.

If you read my original post, I stated that I understand it's Summer League. So, I could care less about wins and losses.

I probably should have stated it differently. My concerns are more roster structure. It seems the Rockets do not put as much emphasis on interior play. To me everything starts in the Summer. Player development, style of play and roster structure. NBA teams are just not going to Vegas to party.

Which brings me back to the Rockets. Their roster makeup was similar to what they had during last season and to me that's not working. I think we need to put more emphasis on longer players along the frontline.

Jabari and Tari have great length. The NBA has evolved more towards skills over height for a while now. You're right that length matters (especially in the arms) but I think we've improved dramatically in that area with this draft.
