Pretty much confirms what I've thought the trade package would look like all along - a bunch of junk contracts to match and some draft picks - no star in return and no large number of picks.

Why bother with contracts - when its only binding for 1 side...

These guaranteed contracts have ruined the league... especially when any of these prima donnas can throw a lil tizzy and force their way out of town...

indicative of the times... greed and selfishness are all that seem to matter... smdh...

This. Exactly what I was trying to say in my earlier posts. Durant is a douche. Stars today for the most part are weak.

    FK the Nets!
They signed him as a FA for nothing but the cost of the contract...
They didnt trade assets for him...
They didnt spend a high draft pick...
They didnt draft him and endure growing pains as he acclimated to the NBA...

What? Do they want a return on the ipad they gave him in free agency or something? lol

    again... greed and selfishness... smdh...

I still have no clue what Durant was thinking signing a 4 year extension only to demand a trade mere weeks later.

This might still all be a ploy to get Kyrie a max contract.

I'm just as eager to see him traded as you are, but the Nets did trade and let go of a bunch of guys to have room to sign him and Kyrie. So I'm not sure it's fair to act as though they got him for nothing.

if they're looking for a few pieces to soften the blow - so be it...
if they're looking for full retail - or a Gobert type return... screw 'em. lol

If they want to try to retool and not rebuild, they better scoop up Ayton and Bridges.

Otherwise, they need to take the best pick(s) they can get and hope for the best.

2024 and 2026 Nets picks back to them and we give up the 2025 swap. Send Garuba as well. We send KD to Toronto with KMJ, Tate, Bucks pick and get Scottie Barnes.

It at least allows them to bottom out and we can overpay for Barnes. Toronto gets KD and wing depth. They can use Mil pick for upgrade and go for a ring...

    Sengun
    Barnes
    Smith/Eason
    Green/Christopher
    KPJ/Ty or Nix

    8 man core for future.

KD has said he's open to returning to GS. He's such a coward. His contract is nearly 43 M .
All of the young players put together can't match his contract. This includes Jordan Poole. Andrew Wiggins has a 33 M contract which is expiring in 2023, and James Wiseman makes 9.6 M.

Kuminga makes 5.7 and Moody makes 3.7.
There may be an outside chance that the Nets will make a deal with GS.

Fortunately , Wiggins doesn't have the ability to carry a team on his own. It's possible that Brooklyn may not want to extend him.

My gut feeling is that the Nets will say yes.

Kyrie will probably spoil everything if he stays in Brooklyn. Westy might even be worse.

And we still have 2023 swap rights in case tge Brooklyn pick ends up higher and an asset with upside in the 2027 swap rights

Gordon goes for a lightly protected 2025 or 2026 pick (so we have one at least).

Durant will be traded for what all the stars are traded for: matching contracts and a ton of future picks.

Kyrie will go to LAL for WB and two unprotected FRP.

Durant will go for either Herro or Bridges and 4 FRP and 2 pick swaps.

Just do it already. Otherwise he and Kyrie will just have back pain and sit out.

Wish they would have back pain and sit out. Best outcome for Rockets. But if he is traded I hope you’re right. Herro and picks would be hilarious. My guess is Phoenix is trying to convince Ayton to be part of the deal instead of signing with Indy.

Probably because the Nets have no leverage and they have no choice but to trade a guy with only a few years left in the league and there's very few suitors.

Toronto isn't trading Barnes, and...Good Lord, enough of trying to move our sweet spot BKN picks at this point. So many seem eager to do this. Gotta let them ferment.

Pretty much how I see it playing out too

Durant to PHX for Bridges + many picks
Ayton to IND for Myles Turner
    Myles
    Crowder
    KD
    Booker
    CP3

That then leaves MIA primed to offer Herro + picks to UT for Donovan
Although Knicks connections and value of FFRPs might see him in NY

Right now they are bemoaning the fact that tanking is pointless because we have their picks. Eventually they will come to grips with but we can get two other teams picks and make up for what was lost.

Thinking Kyrie and Durant will come back is naïveté. We learned this from the Harden trade you can’t get comparable players in return only picks make any sense.

I think Ayton signing that max offer sheet with Indy means that the league is moving past a Durant trade. No one thinks it’s gonna get done. Wonder what the Vegas odds are on KD staying in Brooklyn this season. I bet Brooklyn is the favorite.
