Kevin Porter Jr. may be the guard version of Christian Wood.

LOL @ history. 3 incidents. So all players need to adhere to the KING1 rules of success as the #1 Rocket fan? You dont like the player COOL! I dont really care. I just laugh at all the umbrella statements about how awful he is for the team and how he isnt a good player. After watching al the "OOPS" moments from the Jalen slander last year I thought as a base we would have learned, but guess not. If Scooter excels and your nose gets rubbed in your own comment refuse just own it. I'll do the same if Scooter implodes and beats up Silas or starts selling crack by section 114.

I'm not sure why folks are so argumentative about KPJ. The obvious middle path is to just let things play out in RFA, if he’s consistent and mature all season he’s in for a healthy contract.

There is no "may be" about it. Less rebounds and better defense is pretty much the only real difference.

And for the love of God assist ratios/assist numbers as a metric for a player being "unselfish" is the stupidest take since Russ' gimmick MVP.

If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought KPJ stole y’all girlfriends or something. It’s obviously personal to you clowns. Like chill out, he’s the starting point guard of the rockets. If it bothers y’all so much, go root for another team.

I don’t want to get into all the judgement about selfishness etc but metrics paint us a picture. He dribbles 7 plus times on almost 30% of his shots. He holds the ball 6 plus seconds over 35% of his shots and has the ball with 4 seconds or less in his hands 10% of his shots. All this shows that he holds the ball quite a bit as we have seen in games making the offense stagnant while eating up a lot of clock. Something he needs to work on moving forward. But Again I think the best way to employ him would be to take the playmaking and handling duties away from him and train him to make simple and quick offensive decisions.

I will take Lebron James liking him and giving him advice over all of us knuckleheads on here. Sometimes we are right sometimes wrong - let's just see how KPJ develops....

I do get the feeling that some petty posters will be cheering for him to fail.

Yes. I like the comments on how to help this young man improve rather that the emotional vitriol being expressed by 50% of this board. I think that he, Green, and Sengun should all have ample opportunities to run the offense in the half court. That is the answer, not just cancelling KPJ by relegating him to a bench role or standing around waiting to shoot 3’s. The question really goes to whether Silas and team can take this extremely talented young team and get them into the situations that make them successful. I’m hopeful that our defense and transition game will take such a positive uptick that some of the half court issues we will certainly encounter can be worked out over a longer time period.

To be fair the thread asked the question on where we see KPJ playing after next season and people chimed in with their responses. Agree with them or not it’s their personal thoughts and opinions no different than every post or thread on here. Fans love some players and hate others. They demonized Francis and Harden while Sengun and Yao can do no wrong. It’s the nature of this board. Everyone is entitled to thoughts and opinions but the sad part is when people become disrespectful and condescending attacking the other for simply having an opinion.
